I think a lot of us were surprised to see Pitt favored by 21 over Syracuse Saturday. It got me wondering when the last time we were a 3 TD favorite over a P5 team or a conf team. Here's what I found from oddsshark, going back to 1999:
2016: -24.5 v Cuse (W 76-61 lol)
2009: -21.5 v Cuse (W 37-10)
2002: -24 v Rutgers (W 23-3)
That's it. Obviously none of those teams nor this year's Syracuse squad are particularly good but I thought it was a pretty interesting indicator of how strong this team is perceived by oddsmakers right now. Also worth noting that everyones preseason darling North Carolina was a 22pt fav over this same SU team last week.
