Amazing news. When healthy, combo of Holstein and Reid gives us a chance to beat most teams.
Who on Pitt’s schedule would we definitively lose to with a healthy Holstein and Reid? Most teams?
I mean, we can play 6-7 WVU, 5-7 Cincinnati, 6-6 UNC, or 6-7 Cal to a nail biter that comes down to the very end with those two, I guess.
Who on Pitt’s schedule would we definitively lose to with a healthy Holstein and Reid?
Fine, then who would we definitively lose to outside of the top 12 teams in the nation?"Most teams" implies most teams, not most teams we played while constructing a sub-50 strength of schedule. So if you meant that we could have been competitive with most teams on this past season's schedule with those two, then fine.

You’re changing the narrative. I said, a healthy Holstein and Reid gives us a chance to beat most teams. There's a good chance that we end up with exactly one win this season vs a team with a winning record. And now you're telling me we can play with anybody outside the top 12? Delusional.
It’s amazing how fans twist themselves into pretzels. Like the comments about a few freshmen or youn guys looking good. While that is a good thing, it’s the same thing every year. When they all get on the field, there just aren’t enough good ones. And not even close. There's a good chance that we end up with exactly one win this season vs a team with a winning record. Yes. The OL needs to be much better to beat those teams and so does the defense. You’re changing the narrative. I said, a healthy Holstein and Reid gives us a chance to beat most teams.
You think it’s delusional that we could beat teams like Ole Miss, Iowa State, Mizzou, or Illinois with a healthy Holstein/Reid?

Actually no. I’m interested to hear why you think so?No, I'm talking about with Reid and Holstein. I'm not changing anything.
Like, do you not understand how bad Ole Miss would beat us (yes, with both of those guys)?
I realize you can cherry pick every team's worst game and use it as some example that if all the stars align on that particular day we could hang with them. But that's just playing mental gymnastics. "The Pirates beat the Dodgers twice, so they can hang with the best of the best."
Well 5 or 6 of them anyway.Amazing news. When healthy, combo of Holstein and Reid gives us a chance to beat most teams.
I don't know if he thinks its delusional, but I do. All of those teams have better coaches than Pitt, and with the arguable exception of Iowa State, better rosters. You’re changing the narrative. I said, a healthy Holstein and Reid gives us a chance to beat most teams.

I was right--you don't follow college football, or you don't understand the game.Actually no. I’m interested to hear why you think so?
Is the SEC really, by far, the toughest conference? This year, the Big Ten is better at the top and the bottom half of the SEC is horrible.I was right--you don't follow college football, or you don't understand the game.
Ole Miss was 9-3 playing in by far the toughest the SEC, was #2 in the country in total offense, had a top line QB and a bunch of high level SEC talent.
let's turn this around--I'm interested in hearing why you think Pitt could hang with that team with a fully healthy roster.
Is the SEC really, by far, the toughest conference? This year, the Big Ten is better at the top and the bottom half of the SEC is horrible.
Fair enough, though I think Illinois is better than they get credit for?The top three in the Big Ten might be better, but there is a huge drop off to number four in the Big Ten that doesn't exist in the SEC. 4-6 in the SEC are much better than 4-6 in the Big Ten.
And of course, as always, the bottom of the Big Ten is also horrible.
It is, and it's not even close. Is the SEC really, by far, the toughest conference? This year, the Big Ten is better at the top and the bottom half of the SEC is horrible.

Trolling or just stupid? The SEC is the most overrated conference in college football. Anybody can play football when it’s always 80° outside.. the real teams can play football when it’s cold and translates. Pro cities are up north. That propaganda from ESPN seems to work on everybody.
