For the victims of today’s act of terror in Squirrel Hill.
Part of me thinks they should consider cancelling

If it happened yesterday, then I agree. It is possible the coaches, teams, and officials didn’t even find out about it yet or just did. They are locked in on the game.Part of me thinks they should consider cancelling
I was asking the same thing about if they’d cancel. Has there been any discussions or reports as to whether a decision has been made?
As to the OP’s question, I’m sure they will. The Pitt Athletics page already put something out on social media.
No they can't. The logistics are unmanageable. I suspect an already empty stadium will be even MORE empty, but they can't cancel.Part of me thinks they should consider cancelling
I disagree. We can show respect and at the same time also demonstrate that these madmen will not and can not stop our way of life. They are not mutually exclusive. The game should be canceled. It's the only right thing to do. This is just a silly football game. Show some respect for those who lost their lives and their families.

I felt the same, but now I'm more inclined to go as planned IN SPITE of this.Yeah
I agree in concept.
But we’re likely no longer going.

Good for you.I felt the same, but now I'm more inclined to go as planned IN SPITE of this.
I get it.Good for you.
Since my 6 year old literally had an active shooter drill at school yesterday 2 miles from this tragedy.
It’s a it too raw for me at the moment
Sometimes coming together as a group can demonstrate the utmost respect. But I hear you. I just don't think they will or should cancel.I agree that this man can not change our way of life, but there are at least 8 of our friends who are laying dead 5 miles away in a horrific terror attack. This is a matter of respect. The game should have been called when we realized the scale of this tragedy.
Exactly!I disagree. We can show respect and at the same time also demonstrate that these madmen will not and can not stop our way of life. They are not mutually exclusive.

Ollison tweeted about it, so I assume the rest of the players also are aware of what happened.
Terrible situation, my condolences to anyone impacted. But I see no choice but to conduct the game. No open dates left to reschedule all the way thru to the ACC championship game. Unlikely as it might be (for Pitt anyway) these programs are technically still in the mix for it. And Duke has brought everyone here. Not to mention anyone who traveled to Pgh for it, admittedly not huge numbers I'm sure but likely hundreds at least.
It's a certainly non-critical business activity but a business activity nonetheless. Unfortunately those typically must go on. Movie theaters, bars, restaurants, etc. will similarly remain open as well. Though the sentiment not to be is certainly understandable.
FootnoteI get it.
