Horton’s father speaks about transfer

it just feels like he was trying to sell it.
Yes, similar to the comment about "need to get better players" these are veiled attempts to have the listener believe that his coaching and overall program plan is "really, really, good" , with time, better players, one less injury, these players are gonna buy in and set the basketball world ablaze. So Pitt gets Horton back and, walla, not much movement this season.

Right. I mean, we need better players, sure. But every bit as pressing for the welfare of the program is the need for better coaches.

Anyone who ever lived in or travelled regularly into pgh knows that once that car is on the truck it’s going to 30th street yard .’ I hope Ithiel learned that . That car ain’t coming down
Yeah, somehow this continues to get ignored. Horton caused a scene, that attracted police, who he had to get smart with. As usual it's best to just shut up. Unfortunately, many people can't.

I had a police officer friend tell me many years ago that the less an officer remembers about you, the better chance you have of getting a break if you fight anything in court. They only remember the a$$holes. I get pulled over, it's yes sir, no sir, thank you sir. I'll deal with it later in court if I have to.

His dad has sour grapes in all this and looking to bash the program that paid for his son for 3 years. All he had to say was his son finished 3 years and was ready to move on and get a fresh start. His son got lots of playing time and was not a star player and apparently didnt like Capel. Hughley seems to love him for some reason. It happens on every team. It seems the ones that are pissed are always the ones not getting it done on the court. I dont think Capel is a great coach but also dont think Horton is the star that his dad thinks he is . All he did was make a new coach think twice about taking him on next year.

Here's the other question...did Hortons dad unsolicited reach out to Vuk because he just had to say something, or did Vuk DM the dad in hopes of landing some exclusive story?

Horton was stupid and made a scene. If he wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time, his troubles would not have happened. That's totally on him, not the cop.

He's lucky he got a scholarship and got his education paid for as long as he did. He's just not a good player at all and his dad is delusional.

Bottom line is that his dad thought he should've never been suspended. Smh
