If they run it using that statue Browne at QB that would be horrible!
But if they used another QB there, that wouldn't actually be a bad idea, come out in the first half run it, then at halftime go back to your regular offense to really mess up their half time adjustments.
Wouldn't opening with the option -- something Pitt never does and has no game experience with -- be saying "We can't beat you with what we do best, so we're going to throw other stuff at you and hope we get lucky"???

I don't think they would do that. But Henderson mentioned above, when is the last time the wild cat has been used? Hmmmm....

Intriguing idea. Maybe a changeup during a midgame possession. Make PSU waste a timeout if nothing else. Can't see it feasible full time though.
I also prefer Henderson to be moving and either getting the ball on the run, or diverting defenders away from the point of attack on a fake. Not standing stationary waiting a snap or in the backfield standing waiting for a handoff.
But I think we badly need a gamebreaker other than Henderson to take the heat off him on sweeps. Maybe devise some plays with Ffrench in the backfield while Henderson is at his regular position? If Ffrench got a seam on a pitch, he'd be gone, unlike our three backs from last week who are kind of in betweeners, not effective bangers like JC or Aston (Davis might possibly), but none very fast or elusive.

Apparently Ffrench is the fastest guy on the team . Utilize it him and Q would be cool running that

Worked for the Miami Dolphins when they came out running the wildcat vs the Patriots. Doubt Pitt would do it but if it worked against what some call the greatest coach ever it could very well work against James Franklin.

Pretty sure only our OL don't run sub 4.4. Hopefully HCPN can recruit a little better there.
I would not be surprised at all to see us employ some form of the wildcat. Narduzzi is going to pull out all the stops in this game - you can bet on that. I think our offense is going to be surprisingly potent. Think last year.

This is one the dumbest ideas I have heard on a message board. This isn't madden or some video game. You can't just put in the triple option for a game. If you want to run the triple option and have it work in college football you have to practice it everyday all practice long. It not some wrinkle you add for a game. It an entirely new system. Even teams who install as their offense usually struggle the first couple of years to run it.
