How exciting would it be if this is what the CFP looked like?

Here's what a 12-team playoff would look like at this point. Sign me up for this playoff.

1st-Round Bye
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Michigan State
4. Oregon

1st Round
5. Ohio State vs. 12. Baylor (winner plays Oregon)
6. Cincinnati vs. 11. Oklahoma State (winner plays Michigan State)
7. Michigan vs. 10. Notre Dame (winner plays Alabama)
8. Oklahoma vs. 9. Wake Forest (winner plays Georgia)
This is no good, unless every conference champion is included, if not, then it's the same old eye test BS.

This year is almost a greater argument for going back to the BCS than expanding the playoffs. Just a whole lot of suck and arguing about what unimpressive teams are going to fill 2-4.
Or go back to the pre-BCS/Bowl Alliance system, so what that once a decade or so there's spilt National Champions, Jan. 1 is boring as hell most seasons.

If you allow all conference champions access to the playoff, over time, those other conferences will raise their talent profile and produce higher quality teams that are capable to compete at a higher level than they are today.

This is partially how little Gonzaga became a power. Access to the tournament, win little by little over time and now they pull 5 star players in a 3-star league.

in football, the best players in HS know that they best path to the playoff is through a handful of SEC and blue blood teams. If access is less subjective, that talent can flow into other teams. After a view years of being coached up, and winning, Cincy then begins to pull 4-5 star talent and really competes

The schedule comparison and brand and fan travelling non-sense to arbitrarily determine who gets access is garbage. It serves to allow them to get richer and bigger to further build a wall to close out access to 110 other teams.

In today's structure there is a no-win situation for 110 teams. Even is you make a bowl game against a "superior" opponent to prove yourself and win, if its not a playoff game, the big school says that they didn't care/weren't motivated/blah blah blah. This would happen if Pitt beat Alabama in the Peach bowl.

THIS ^^^ is spot on 110% - THIS ^^^ is why CFB is a JOKE.

The biggest, most powerful schools won't allow it to happen -- like you said, they are trying to make themselves richer and build a wall to exclude the other teams. But this is nothing new, it's been happening for decades. It's pretty similar to Paterno helping to drive the 1-A split from the 1-AA schools, or the P5 schools separating themselves from the G5.

To me this makes no sense? "Unimpressive Teams" why does that matter? Every year the playoff should be a certain number of teams, most of which being decided by winning leagues, OBJECTIVE criteria. DOESN'T MATTER if they are even any good at all, they just enter the playoffs SOLELY because they won a certain game, PERIOD, no other reason, no consideration or eye test as to their quality. They don't have to be THE BEST TEAMS either, if the BEST TEAMS lose in the entry games, it's 110% correct that THEY SHOULD BE OUT! Because being the champion has nothing to do with being the best team, it's ONLY about winning the certain games that make you champion. Personally, I don't understand wanting there to be all time great teams, while it's pretty clear that Georgia is super good, THE BEST BY FAR, to me the only interesting outcome would be some nobody derailing them and them failing to be Champion.

So everyone else should split, let them have a 10 team super league. College football is mostly regional anyways, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would never watch any games the super league plays, I haven't watched an SEC game in probably 30 years. Just like I haven't watched the current CFB playoffs in probably 5-6 years.
