WTT? I've never heard of this kid. A Burrell QB playing for Florida State? How good was this kid in HS? Did we recruit him? To earn an FSU scholarship, I would have thought he would have been like a 5 star recruit for FSU to come that far to get him.

If I recall, his family was connected to FSU somehow.
He didn't get as much attention locally because CC did not throw the ball very much. The WPIAL has had some record breaking QBs in recent history, and those guys got a lot more attention from the media.

He committed very early, so there was never much talk about him. Every once in a while we talked about him, but he never really swayed in his commitment. A lot of people thought he was overrated, and I believe he was the same year as Kincaid and ford. Most of us wanted those two.

I think Sal Sunseri was on the FSU staff and reecruited him, don't believe he was any better than any of the QB's that have played for Pitt since Rutherford or Palko.

Well again, this shows some of the folly of rankings. Was Cosentino a 4 star and FSU recruited him over a bunch of P5 power programs? Or was Cosentino recruited by FSU and having the legacy of Western PA QB's and his size, these recruiting experts figured he must be good so they slapped 4 stars to him.
Since this is recent history, I would definitely think it is the latter. I think this is a perfect example of stars not mattering, because the only thing I really remember this kid being lauded for his as a punter.
That maybe true. But it has only been 2 years since his recruitment. I think it is all fresh in our minds. No one around here really focused on him, he was considered more of a punting prospect than a QB. I think the only reason why he got 4 stars is because FSU recruited him.
FSU obviously liked him out of high school and as a redshirt freshman he got into a few games for a few plays so FSU must think he has developed some, has potential and is not a dud at this point ....... maybe he will continue to work his way up the depth chart and eventually become a starter or maybe he will be recruited over and never see the field again .... rivals not only rates kids on high school stats, film, camps, offers but also on potential at the college level ..... frankly, I would say he should have been a high 3 star out of high school but only time will tell whether the 4 star rating was deserved.
