I know that Watson is a friend of head coach Pat Narduzzi but how is he still employed?
Under Watson last year the Pitt offense seemed inept. Second half issues. Inconsistent production with the ability to extend drives. Struggled to merge the jet sweep into his scheme. Red Zone scoring issues. Poor QB play.
Limited use of the Tight End in the passing game. No middle of the field passing attack. No vertical passing game.
Now year 2- not only all thsse but now Pickett looking the same as the QB play of last season.
When will Duzzz acknowledge the issues with the offense are largely tied to a terrible hire that he made at OC. Watson is not creative enough nor willing to change his scheme. The quicker Narduzzi moves on from Watson the quicker the offense has a chance to be a college football offense of present day and now is the time to see if the next OC is already on staff in Tim Salem or if Narduzzi needs to go out and find him. No way can Watson still be the OC next year. Dude is not good. The talent is there to be an average to above average offense.
