Big win today for my Gamecocks. 20-3.
Keeping hopes alive for a 1 seed.....or Dayton I guess since they arent beating the spread.

A close win at home over a mediocre team? Their NET will probably drop. And SMF will probably have a heart attack.

They dropped 2 to 41. If they keep winning these close games, we may see a 29-5 South Carolina team in Dayton. I know we dont use RPI anymore but its 7 and they'd be right there in position for a 1 seed but with NET, there a few losses away from the bubble. I hate RPI so Im not advocating for it but this is one example where its better. NET is probably better than RPI but they have to get rid of the scoring margin metrices or at least turn them off in blowout games.
Well the team they beat was only 18-4. You have to drop them for that. Now, had they beat a 7-15 team by 25, THAT would have been impressive.
You’re wrongBeating DePaul by 5 and beating them by 33 is exactly the same thing. Its a win. SHU should not be rewarded for the blowout and SC shouldn't be penalized. That is patently absurd.

Is losing by 20 against Duke the aame
As lost by 1 versus sc state ?
Of course not
Well wake had 2 win that week including the road win by a lotThe 1-point loss is way worse, because it's a much worse team.
But then NET just moved Wake up for beating a 10-13 team by a lot and moved South Carolina down for beating an 18-4 team by a little.
It’s unbelievable how many times this has to be said.If they keep winning close games they are going to be probably a three or four seed. At worst. Because, fortunately for them, the NCAA does not select the teams for the tournament and they do not seed the teams for the tournament based on their NET ranking.
But if they do keep winning and they end up a four seed with an RPI of 35 you'll have some sort of excuse for them as to why they don't count, just like you do with every other team that doesn't fit your declaration.
