Young has 13.5 sacks but only 29 tackles. In 1980, Green had 123 tackles (77 solo), 17 sacks and SEVEN forced fumbles. And, as best I can recall from being there, most every team didn't even TRY Green's side of the ball.

The fact that Young gets so much talk about deserving the Heisman only shows how badly Green got hosed.

1980. The year the Heisman lost all meaning. Most outstanding player in College Football. That was Hugh Green and it wasn’t even close.

And Pitt, with another outstanding performance from Green, completely throttled the Heisman winner, George Rogers, in the Gator Bowl.

I wonder if Cook had a Heisman vote that year?

Clowney was also the end-all-be-all. Lol. Same discussion. Don't forget Ricky was on that field too sharing the tackles and hits with Hugh. What a team.
