I’ll be that Homer, 10+ wins with this schedule

Well SOR per espn is number 10, meaning Pitt is doing pretty well despite their flaws.

Exactly. I haven't been overwhelmed with the line play and do remind myself that we were just a couple plays away from my non-conference prediction being right on, but the offense is at least a year ahead of where I hoped it would be with the new OC and I think the defense will continue to perform well enough.

It just feels good to have some optimism going into October after last year.

Win next week, get momentum for WVU at home and go 4-0 OOC for first time in like ever.
UNC has an injured QB. Beat Cal and Cuse. SMU could be trap, but hopefully crap. Beat Virginia and BC. That leaves Clemson and Lville. I’m glad they started with Kent rather than YSU….
Im with you

So now 5-0. Again, I’m glad UNC had the back up QB. Cal next week, curious how they do against Miami. But they still have to fly cross country after hosting a top 10 team. Win or lose tonight, maybe they come out flat against Pitt to start.

SMU now looking like a tough road game…Clemson also holding ground. Cuse, VA, BC, Lville also look like games can either win or lose on any night, but still a path to 10-2 or better.

There are no easy games left. That said, as long as Holstein and Reid are healthy and the defense continues to improve I like our chances in most of them.

I think the real VA will show up the rest of the way and barely be a bowl team, that is a prety talentless team. BC ditto
I see Louisville more as a toss up and I dont like our chances at the stangs place

So clearly SMU is not crap as I had hoped. Also, not a trap as they are ranked. If anything, Virginia would be a trap game if Pitt beats SMU. But 7-0. Root for UNLV tonight against Boise. Yes, for at least the next 8 days, we can imagine what if…

The schedule might be the 2nd easiest in history besides Chryst's 1st year when he still only managed to go 6-6.

These are ESPN's % chance Pitt wins:

Cincy: 57%
WVU: 56%
YSU: 94%
UNC: 45% (surprised this high but UNC QB out for year)
Cal: 65%
Syr: 66%
SMU: 30%
UVa: 69%
Clem: 41%
Lou: 19%
BC: 57%

Underdogs in only 4 games. All games winnable but conversely, all loseable but YSU. We can get to 6-1 without having to do anything crazy and if we are that, we go into November with at least having a dream of the CFP.

Although, yes, I did make the Majors 2 talent remark, let it be known that I did think this schedule was manageable enough to have a dream of the CFP and I was right. Obviously, we have much better than Majors 2 talent so I was wrong about that part.

I’m sure every poster had a terrible prediction at some point. I thought FSU could hang with Georgia last year. That was VERY wrong.

I mean giving up 24 to Kent was not a great start on D. Cincy has proved to be better than we thought. WVU has been inconsistent. Kent also played Tenn that beat Bama and an undefeated PSU.
