What is sad about last night's game is that Miami was pushed around by an average big-10 team. They were dominated at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, but particularly when Miami was on defense. The same defense that made our offense look very sick.
This game clearly underscores how poorly our offensive line recruiting has been. Paul Chryst can recruit lineman. So far, Narduzzi has been very defecient in this department. We were under the impression that we had some good run blockers, but pass blocking was bad. Well, seeing last night's game leaves me with a very uneasy feeling about the future of our offense. I don't care if we have great running backs and Pickett develops into a good QB, our offensive line play will determine how good our offense will be.
Right now, we seem to be fine when playing against sub-standard ACC opponents. That said, we are in trouble when facing decent to good P5 programs, when a team that crushed us, was absolutely destroyed by an average big-10 team.
