I call Pitt vs West Virginia in sweet 16.

Come on Jamie. Make it happen.

Wisconsin and Xavier are very beatable.
WVU vs. Pitt in Philadelphia? Well, if we can't play in the regular season anymore, count me in as loving a matchup with the Panthers in Philly.

I've followed Pitt from afar, and admittedly watched just a game or two. That said, Pitt seems very Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde this season. You beat Duke, then lose to Virginia Tech? Sweep Syracuse, and then lose to Georgia Tech? Strange stuff.

As for WVU, this is a team that the fans have come to love. Reason being - Huggins purged our roster two years ago and simply said: "I'm going to fix this" after two subpar seasons. And, fix it, he has. These guys play hard, and are tough as nails.

I'd love to see WVU/Pitt in the Sweet Sixteen, and I had a feeling we'd both end up in the same bracket.

Love the thought mo!

But to see the Panthers in the Sweet 16, it would require more consistency over a full two-game stretch than they have been able to offer during any point in the last two years.

So, our 10 game win streak, starting with the Duquesne game and running through ND, doesn't qualify??!! :p

I think I already know your answer . . . still, it would be kinda special if somehow our guys reflected back on that more-or-less "consistent" run. We sure looked good vs Syr and ND during that stretch, as well as Davidson. Two of those three were either on the road or at a neutral site . . . just saying!!

Jut realized that I am scheduled out next Friday - movie in the afternoon followed by dinner at Morton's with my kids, so what I'm saying is that now I thinking they'll make it and the game will played then.

What a great mom/parents!
You encouraged us to do the same when our oldest comes to town!
Rather than eat home we'll go out !
Although they both like to eat at home because they eat out all the time.

If we were to happen to get that far the game won't be in the afternoon. They don't play Sweet 16 games in the afternoon. Two early games at around 7-ish and two later games at 9:30-ish.

WVU will not make the Sweet 16 because of poor pt guard play.Last year they had two senior pt guards to lead them in their two wins, will not happen this year.Turnovers will send them home in their second game,no matter who they play in it.

While at times we have clearly missed Juwan Staten this season, Jevon Carter has been playing his best basketball lately - see his 8 assists vs. 0 turnovers in 32 minutes at Baylor & his 26-point outburst vs. Oklahoma, where he once again had zero turnovers. But, WVU's most effective point guard may actually be Tarik Phillip, who comes off the bench.

Ultimately, we're not very concerned with our point guard play anymore. What concerns WVU fans is: a) Nights like the Big XII Championship game and the game at Florida when everyone goes cold; and b) When our 3-4-5 guys start turning the ball over, getting lane violations on free throws (happens way too often), three-second calls, offensive fouls, and walking violations. It's not our guards who kill us with turnovers - it's our bigs.

Just bring your smart phone with the CBSSports app and watch the game at Morton's. Your family won't mind.

If Pitt and WVU met in the Sweet Sixteen this year, it would probably be the biggest Backyard Brawl in basketball ever. That would really be awesome, playing for the chance to go to the Elite Eight. Not to mention that if Pitt makes it that far, it's already a season that we crushed expectations.
