Now, with Max Amadasun having the lowest utility on the roster, he can’t be occupying a spot. He absolutely has to go.
That will leave a nucleus of 6 players and 7 openings to find 3-4 good players.
Horton wasn’t even on the team most of the year and whenever he got back onto the team he was a very streaky shooter. He was a liability defensively, couldn’t drive, and rarely pulled up for a mid-range jumper.
They are most likely planning on moving Burton to SG (having him back up PG), having Femi/Nike play SF (Femi could play 1-3 whenever needed), and adding a true PG. If they can find a good post player at either C or PF (Hugely could play in tandem with), then they could be a much improved team by next year, especially giving Jeffress (who has been playing very young) and Santos another offseason of development.
Add each a post and wing player to provide depth and it might be the season that turns it all around for Capel as HC.
Having this season gives him a final chance to show if he’s the guy to get this program back to where it needs to be.
