The pride, the fun and the excitement of Pitt basketball was ripped away from us a few years ago. I was excited when Capel was hired and thought that perhaps we could get some of that back in a few years.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think it could possibly happen in year one. This team is fun to watch play both on offense and defense...in year one....with 3 freshman and a few guys left over from a team that was winless in the acc. And that's not a knock on the returners but rather a testament to how hard they've worked to improve.
I am well aware that ACC play hasn't begun and I'm aware that we have beaten up on some cupcakes but I feel certain this team will be competitive and continue to be fun to watch even if we lose more than we win. I am excited for the future with these freshman and this coach but just as excited for the rest of this season and that's really quite a miracle.
