After a few games into the 2017 football season, my thinking that Shaun Watson was a terrible hire was coming to fruition. He was a bad hire from day one and Pitt football payed the price for 2 years. Again, we hire an OC that in my opinion sucks at play calling, makes no halftime adjustments and he doesn’t understand college football. I made this observation during the last Pitt/PSU game. We are down 7 points and we have the ball on the 1 FOOT LINE, 1ST AND GOAL. A quarterback sneak is the right call every time especially in college because you are allowed to push the QB from behind. Every college team that runs a QB sneak properly gets 1 or more yards 99.9 % of the time. We had 4 downs to get 1 FOOT!
Whipple decides to run his east/west bullshit running plays and the results speak for themselves.
Since that game I have been calling for his removal because he is not qualified to be a P5 OC.
Watson was a turd hire and Whipple is just not as bad a smelling turd period.
I think that I was proven right this weekend when during the BC game one of the announcers said that Whipple told him he hated the QB sneak. For him to say that,tells you that he doesn’t understand college football and it’s rules when a play that works at such a high % of success --- he doesn’t like!
It’s time to quit blaming the kids and blame the coaches.
A change is needed immediately!
