Just some meaningless thoughts:
As Chris said in a previous thread, we're not "there" yet - not sure what "there" means at this point but, we certainly are headed in that "there" direction.
I think we just had an off night. Peterman was not real sharp.
There are some games where things just don't go your way. I really think it's as simple as that sometimes.
Other games, we get the calls - the bounces etc etc - last night, we didn't.
As Narduzzi said in his post game presser, we missed at least 4 sacks - just one of those sacks could have been a game changer - hell, we only lost by 1 TD.
And w/ every single missed sack, Williams seemed to make a play especially that thread the needle pass where Webb just turned around at the last second and missed - that was the clincher.
UNC is pretty good - not great but say a 15-20 type team.
Pitt more like a 25-30 spot.
I know I've never seen a more animated HC on the sidelines and I LOVED it - kinda the anti-Chryst.
He's certainly not afraid to get in Cheney's face. But, we did have over 400 yds on offense last night so other than the poor clock management toward the end of the 1st half, I can't find fault with Cheney.
I don't like this 4th quarter party thing, it just looks silly imho.
Did anyone notice Boyd while the players were jumping around? He looked over and was like...WTF?...we're losing?!?!
You have to give UNC a LOT of credit - they knew - every coach now knows how Pitt plays defense now - they dare you to make the long pass.
Fedora says to Williams pre-game..."They don't think you can make long passes - I think you can ." And, that's exactly what he/they did.
We better hope we get Winfree and that Flowers blossoms early next year - yeah, pun intended.
Or, we will be devoid of playmakers.
Dontez Ford - sry son - bad game last night.
I'm very worried about the next two games - I think ND has too much for us.
I'll concede that game right now for a Duke win.
I'll be taking a group of at least 6 to the Duke game in the Pitt mini bus at a must have game for the Coastal.
Disappointed last night - of course we all are but, we should also be very encouraged.
We're a pretty good football team and we're only going to get better.
