I wonder how our season would look if

I can’t even look at Hughley as much as the staff should have a more capable center who’s a sophomore and battled tested at this point.

I really think Hughley would have progressed to the point where just his presence would have meant 2 or 3 more wins.
For the other team? He wasn’t good before he left and he’s a criminal.

Please don’t tell me we’ve come so far we’re lamenting criminals being off the team. Bring back Freddie Primus!

His loss did impact our play.

Idont think that is open to question.
Should’ve never been recruited. There were always character concerns with this kid. I said it from the first day they started recruiting him there was a reason OSU and Michigan schools passed.

This conversation is as useless lamenting how our season would go with Kofi Cockburn at center. It doesn’t matter

I am not lamenting anything. I am stating a fact. The loss of Hugley impacted our play.

Losing a player you had playing is quite different than lamenting not having a player someone else has.

Lots of teams have plenty of players we were unsuccessful at recruiting.

Blah blah blah. You sound like Capel coming up with excuses instead of answers

I think Hugley would have made a big difference as he was really starting to progress before he got suspended. Prior to the NC State game, Brown has been virtually unplayable and Hugley would have made a difference, even if it was just serving as an adequate backup to Coulibaly.
On the other hand, Femi is much better than Nike. Going to be a player.

Gimme a break with you’re pontificating. We’ll know how much of a criminal he is after he gets his day in court. I only gave an opinion on if we would be better if he were here. Where did I say he should be on the team.

His day in court doesn’t matter. His days on the court as a Panther are over.

you sound like an asshole.
if you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you’re the asshole.

Just not sure why you brought up Nike.
He's on the team and Femi has proven himself more valuable.
But yes any half capable big would've been great.

So what? Apparently he hasn’t done anything to earn more minutes. You don’t think Capel would be playing him more if he thought he could help? Or is there just some nefarious reason he’s not playing?

Maybe the whole transfer debacle did mess with him. Or maybe he’s just not good enough at a higher level. I don’t know and won’t pretend to. But coaches livelihoods depend on the players and I always believe (there probably are some petty reasons/exceptions here and there) that they’ll play the guys who give the them The best chances to win. If Nike was that, he’d be out there.

It seems to me Nike is tentative when he gets a chance and is deferring. I think he needs "told" if he wants to earn time it is "time" to try to exert himself. Maybe on "this" "team" that would not go over well?

Someone is big mad that I think it’s stupid to talk hypotheticals about a kid who will never play a second at Pitt again. Sorry bro, we suck

not mad in the least bit.

Moving on...
As far as Nike it’s been a hard year for new players to get acclimated. I’m not giving up on him yet.

I can see how that’s certainly possible. I imagine some transfers tread lighter than maybe they should. I know the last cpl years there have been some questions about the team dynamics. If accurate that also could be a problem. But if that’s been a problem for 2 years - and again i say IF cause I don’t know - there are some big problems with the entire staff.

Hugley did not get suspended and Nike got Odukale‘s minutes?

Not sure about Nike, but IMHO, Hugley's absence may even have defined the season, who knows how much better he would be by now, and there is just something about having physical bigs around a team that seems to change team chemistry for the better.
