I would not want him

Saw him play this year against Pitt, the last home game. Looks like a total geek but he can play.

Always seemed like a guy who had to have the ball a lot to be effective, but I'd take him.

Take. I think he is in top 10 all time of high school point scorers. He would be nice in our offense. Real nice.

Wow. You absolutely take him. Excellent shooter and scorer. That would be quite interesting.

Amazing how this guy could be collecting his pension after 47 years at Syracuse but can still play ball. We absolutely have a spot for him!

Can’t guard anyone. Good shooter… but he’s a chucker

I’d pass unless he’s cool playing 16-22 mpg

So we have the luxury of passing on this good of a shooter, a shooter that’s already proven it at this level?

Because he can’t guard anyone. Not as good a rebounder but would he be worse than Elliott on perimeter defense?

I was a little skeptical of him from watching him on TV, but he was more impressive in person. The guy can flat out shoot the rock and is very crafty.

That’s lame Gary, pulling out the ole B10 is so slow and antquated relative to the other conferences bias.

I’d say we’re definitely back if we’re to good for B10 level players.
You do not think he is one dimensional? Strictly an offensive player. Basically a half court player.and very inconsistent.

When he is hot, he is hot. When not....

My guess is Dior's game is a lot like Mintz's (ie ball dominant). Dior and Girard didnt play well together like McGowens and Johnson so it probably wouldn't be a good fit.....but he can score so I'd take him and take my chances.

I am torn on Girard. He can make 3s but cant do much else. I would guess his defense is bad but we've never seen him in a man. Our defense and rebounding is already bad.
Jeffress will be back. This would be such a huge pickup. Experience and 3PT shooting in the backcourt are needs right now.

He is a take. Can’t be worse than Elliott. I’d take Austin as Sibande’s replacement. Factor in Jeffress D and Dior with the returning core and that is a solid 8-9 rotation with the other freshmen.

I'd take him because he and I are from the same hometown. He lives just two streets behind me. That's credential enough for me. The fact that he finished sixth in scoring for the 2022-23 ACC regular season is beside the point.

Why not ?
He’s a more talented and proven Greg Elliot

Elliot was a good rebounder for his position on a bad rebounding team. Girard doesnt rebound. Probably doesn't defend. Hunts his shot better than Greg and can go off. I'm not saying I wouldnt take him but he comes with question marks. He would be a great 5th piece on an already good team.

He was a guard in a 2-3 zone. Of course his rebounding numbers weren’t good.

You know what else is a question mark? If Jeffres can even shoot a ball high enough for it to be physically possible to go in the hoop or if Santos could hit the ocean with a rock, or any object of his choice. I'll take someone who can shoot; figure the rest out later.

Jeffress and Santos wouldn’t get significant playing time on Duquesne let alone a solid power 5 team.
I’ll take the guard who averaged 16 for a blue blood.

Elliot averaged 4 rebounds per game yesterday
Girard averaged 2.8 RPG at the top of a zone defense
I’d say that’s a push

Girard also averaged almost 3 more assists per game
He’s a great shooter who handles and distributes the ball well .
It’s insane
