I would not want him

The question isn't if he's a take . The question is can the coaches get him to come here and play.

Not sure where this too big for your britches attitude is coming from with some fans.
Yup the dude is a stone cold assassin from deep and is not just a set shooter which makes him more of an offensive threat Hes shown the ability to take his man off the dribble as well

What’s hilarious is that during the Jamie era all I remember reading is how Pitt needed a 2 Guard who could shoot and score like him. LOLL

Exactly. He’s 23 years old and a big time shooter who can handle the ball and make FTs in the clutch. He checks every single box.

Agreed. Sounds exactly like the ingredients that made the team successful this past year.

He’s gonna be highly sought after but you have to think Pitt is a great fit for him given Capels philosophy of giving players pretty much free rein to shoot. Pitt also returns a decent core and has a pretty good team atmosphere

But there’s always NiL money as well as perhaps other teams who have a better shot to make a deep run.

But make no mistake this kid would be a huge get for next year

If this is the only competition I like our chances unless he goes to the NBa

I am torn on Girard. He can make 3s but cant do much else. I would guess his defense is bad but we've never seen him in a man. Our defense and rebounding is already bad.
You gotta admit, after years of losing we won 24 games this year with bad D and rebounding, mostly because of making 3s.

Yea. But that’s volatile. On - beat anyone. Off - lose to anyone. And it’s not ideal for runs in a one and done tourney.
There are 2 ways to win in the tourney, or at least make it to the Final 4:
1. Have a volatile team with a high enough ceiling get hot.
2. Have better players than everyone else.

I don't think 2 is a legitimate option for us in the next couple years (or maybe ever now with NIL and the new transfer rules) so I don't think it's unreasonable to go with option 1.

Or to put it in terms us Pitt fans understand, I'd rather be one of the teams that beat us during the Dixon era than be most of the teams that got beat.

Also, I'm not sure which is more ridiculous: the people who say we don't want Girard or the people who say we don't want Samuel. Maybe they're the same people though.

I’m with you, this is one strange ridiculous thread when we got so many not wanting Girard or he’s not good enough. Mind boggling.

People get it in their head that certain players aren't good enough, or ACC level. For example, I wonder about someone like Nelly Cummings. we didn't take him out of high school, even though he would have come for sure, so was he good in his one year here because he went to a lower level and developed, or would he have been good here for 4 years if we took him right away?

At least it makes some sense to me with a player like Cummings who is coming from a lower level.

Girard is a 4 year starter in the ACC that fills a major need. It should be a no-brainer to take him.
