And weren't distracted watching Ron Cook pace back and forth like a senile chimp with ADHD, I think you heard a perfect recruiting pitch for any gifted quarterback recruits.
Naradawg said, and I paraphrase here, "That isn't some hyped up HS offense we're running here, some gimmicky thing that some coach brought with them! This is a legitimate PRO style NFL offense right here!"
And he's right!
If KP does get drafted in the first round, as is widely predicted, Pitt should have a tremendous recruiting pitch for players on the offensive side of the ball who aspire to an NFL career, especially the QB's.
Whipple is a former starting college QB with the Brown Bears and an NFL QB coach . He has that on his resume having coached up rookie QB Ben Roethlisberger and coaching for the Browns and Eagles.
I can't imagine why this pitch won't work for QB's WR's, TE's and O linemen, as well as RB's. They get to audition for the NFL running the type of offense the NFL runs!
The only downside is Whipple's age and how long he intends to do this.
Now that he has the pieces in place that he needs, it is pretty clear that Whipple knows what he is doing. I'm sure KP would be a huge Whipple booster as well.
Probably too late for the 2022 class, but they should go all in on the 2023 class. Nardawg can already sell his defense, now he can make a valid pitch on offense as well!
