If Canada Leaves - Brad Salem

Salem brothers as co-OC's

Pelini brothers as co-DC's

McKillop brothers as co-S&C coaches

And hire HCPN's away from his career as a Mexico City freelance artist to be a co-HC with his brother. His office can be at Frick Fine Arts.

You probably go outside the current staff...don't want any coordinator from MSU...old style FB where you need superior talent to beat the other team.

I don't think, out of respect for Dantonio and staff at MSU, that Narduzzi would approach Brad Salem, nor do I think he would leave Dantonio. He isn't a bad candidate, but I just don't see it. I can see Narduzzi trying to get a coach, that he is familiar with, that would run a similar offense to Canada. It would make the transition much easier for the offense, and makes sense because that style was so successful. It won't be an easy task replacing Canada, but there is always a guy out there that is as good. Just finding him and the right 'fit' for the program is the question.

Scuttlebutt toward the end of the year that MSU coaching band might be broken up.

Dumb idea. Co- OC's rarely work. If we need a new OC, he will come from outside. Salem as a TE coach, yeah, as a OC, no.

This is not true. PN offered positions to Barnett and Tressel before. They declined PN's offer.

You sure about that? My memory was Duzzi and Dantonio had a gentleman's agreement that Dooz wouldn't take anyone with him.

I thought so too. I thought that he didn't try to get them when looking previously. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought.

historically it hasn't been a great idea. sometimes guys have titles but its one guy calling the actual plays. look at Bama, Kiffen is calling the plays, its not Co-coordinators. Its kind of like alternating QB's during the game, i'm not a fan of this either.

Pointing out one year is not an end all be all. Just like this year with Canada, he's not going to repeat these numbers many more times in his career.

What experience does Brad Salem have as a OC? PN is a defensive guy, we cannot be taking chances on the OC hire. As a first year coach he went with a lot of experience in Chaney. First time Kirby Smart did the same thing. Second time, PN went with another experienced guy. When the 3rd time comes, PN will most likely hire another guy who has a track record with actual stand alone OC experience.

we probably don't even need to be talking about this until we have an actual opening at OC.

MSU's offensive design and play calling was atrocious this year. And didn't Beck get fired from Kansas? I am glad you guys aren't in charge of picking an OC.

Alabama has 2 OC last year but they only named one OC,sarkisian was their as well and he will be full time OC this year

Nick has over 30 people on the football staff. After their last national championship the school paid out over 2 million in bonuses to coaches that were not even "real" members of the staff. The real football coaches had separate bonuses that were paid out to them.

Sark is making right around 30k this year.

He may or may not be their OC next year. There are other names in the mix. If I was to guess, sark will not be their OC next year.

No thanks! Did you watch Michigan st's offense this year? I did! Atrocious

The offensive and defensive coordinators each have an analyst that reports to the respective coordinator. They break down film and help with game planning, etc. Usually, very involved during the game in feeding information to the coordinator to assist in play calling, defensive alignments, etc. Generally, covered by a younger guy to serve as a stepping stone between GA and full time position coach.

What the hell does an offensive analyst do
Operate as an offensive assistant. They are not the offensive coordinator or even close. Schools like Alabama have several of those positions on both sides of the ball, plus many, many others in support staff. Their budget and staffing extends far past the 15 they list on their official staff page.

Yeah but sark contract is jumping to 1.5mill this coming season
Most definitely not the case. He certainly won't get that kind of money if he gets the OC job, but I wouldn't expect him to get the job anyway. Billy Napier is the in house favorite.

Fits PN's MO.
