for Tom Izzo whether he liked it or not. No brainer.

The best--bar none. And he does it the right way.

I was about to start a similar thread.
IZZO does not get the highest rated players...I'm not sure he cares to.
But, he gets good athletes with better work ethics and smart players.
Then he works them.
Then he challenges them BEFORE conference play.
And they lose games against good teams
But they are never, never afraid to lose.
They are only afraid to NOT get better.

You are right bad boy. IZZO does it the right way...and for all those in the self pity club...IZZO proves that cheating is not only not necessary, it isn't sustainable.

Love the guy. He is the best...

Like I said, in my imaginary scenario, he gets no imaginary choice.

In real life, I'll be rooting on my daughters in U7 soccer.

Since 2000 - MSU has had 9 McDonalds All-Americans. I like Izzo, but let's pretend he does not have some talent to work with.

In fairness, he gets pretty damned good players-just not many of the uber-elite one and done tyoes. Always a Mickey Ds AA or two, along with a Michigan Mr Basketball or two rattling around on his roster. He definitely likes mentally tough, hard working kids

Our Blair/Young/Fields team is about Izzo's average group.

He always has guys who can shoot and guards that score. He likes to take H.S, scoring guards and mold them into PGs, and he's had some very good ones by doing so.

No way. He doesnt average a Blair, Young, Fields group. Look at the star rankings of the current players.

No shit. Who's saying otherwise?

By the way, this year's team is one of his weakest ever on paper and from an expedtations standpoint. Yet ther he is in the FF again, having taken a very tough road to get there.

That's part of why he's great-he's an excellent recruiter. He doesn't get the kids that Duke, UNC, Kansas, UCLA, or Syraxuse get, and nobody gets the players UK gets,, but he gets his share of the next layer down and he has an excellent in-state talent pool to draw from as well. Very seldom do you see his guys leaving early, Dawson is his only current McD's AA and he's a 4 year player who has gotten better every year.

If he cheated then the sanctimonious crowd in Ann Arbor would be on him like white on rice.
And...there have been 16 basketball seasons since 2000. If IZZO didn't get some AAs during that span with Motown and Chicagoland nearby he would now be an assistant at Duquesne.
