If the nits end up 4-8 this year (real possibility) it would not surprise me one bit if the dominator takes off for another job at a lower level school (maybe WKU when Brohm gets a bigger job).
There is no doubt that he is in way over his head up there. I don't think he realized the major rebuild job that they have to do up there, especially on the lines. IMHO they are several years away before they can even begin to be competitive with Ohio State, Michigan and Sparty. The natives are restless now.
If Franklin knows his seat is incredibly hot he will bolt before he is canned. His ego is too big to allow himself to be fired. He will jump if he thinks he will be cut loose.
Right track, wrong car.Well he may be negatively recruiting against ND now too hah
Which is why they should give him time & support. IMO, its going to be very hard to compete with tOSU & Michigan as long as Meyer and Harbaugh are there. Sparty is a different story. PSU should expect to be competitive with MSU soon.
LSU should kick the tires on Dantonio. He's done everything a coach can do at MSU. IMO, I don't think he can take them any further.
Isn't D'Antonio in his 60's? Not to sound prejudice, but at that stage in your career/life a monster challenge like that might not be appealing.
He is 4 or 5 years younger than Nick Saban. Why do you see LSU as such a monster challenge? They have a lot more talented roster than Michigan State. It's also much easier to recruit to LSU.
I think LSU is going to focus on Herman & Fisher.
He is younger than Saban, but he had a heart attack 6 years ago. 60 with a history of heart problems is not where I would go if I were LSU.He is 4 or 5 years younger than Nick Saban. If the administration comes for his head he will just tell them that only he will decide when he quits. No..wait..that was another Nit coach. If the nits end up 4-8 this year (real possibility) it would not surprise me one bit if the dominator takes off for another job at a lower level school (maybe WKU when Brohm gets a bigger job).

Harbaugh has never won anything, Saban has 5 National Championships. I'd say Saban is a hell of a lot more daunting. Plus, Harbaugh seems almost 100% to run himself out of town for a 3rd time before too long.the spectre of Saban is a monster challenge. Of course the spectre of Harbaugh is probably just as large.

Focus will definitely be on Herman and Fisher. Probably then Petrino and maybe Briles.
Actually agree BigMouth deserves more time and support.Which is why they should give him time & support. IMO, its going to be very hard to compete with tOSU & Michigan as long as Meyer and Harbaugh are there. Sparty is a different story. PSU should expect to be competitive with MSU soon.

I just wonder if Herman would want to take that job on. It seems in the SEC west it doesn't matter how many games you win if you don't beat Nick Saban. And no one has been able to do that much. In other conferences you wouldn't see guys with records like Miles and Richt getting fired.Herman has to be their #1 choice at this point. The reason why Miles was released from LSU is his inability to evolve with the game offensively. They are not going to bring in a coach from the BIG who relies on a power running game and pro-style QB over a coach who loves to spread out the defense and allow his players to beat their man 1-on-1.
I don't think you are understanding either case. Miles wasn't just losing to Nick Saban. He was turning in regular seasons with 8 and 9 wins. That is not enough in Baton Rouge and he showed absolutely no willingness to adapt to the changing game. The recent history was what was important. not the kickoff of his tenure.I just wonder if Herman would want to take that job on. Really though, their schedule isn't difficult. They will 100% lose to OSU and MSU, but other than that they play Minnesota, Maryland, Purdue, Indiana, Rutgers and Iowa. All are mediocre to bad teams. The next two weeks home vs Minnesota and Maryland probably will tell the tale. They absolutely have to at least go 1-1. If they lost both and are 2-4 hosting OSU, it could be all over. But really they should be 4-2 after the next two and still have 3 more games they are favored in, so at least 6 games should be relatively easy to pull off.I was talking to a big PSU fan friend of mine today and he told me Franklin needs to go 7-5 to keep his job. I think that's a little harsh. 6-6 gets him one more year I think but if the wheels come off and he goes 5-7 or 4-8, he's probably gone.
Dumb
It's funny but the day after the game, their fans tried to protect Franklin from any harsh criticism but on Monday, almost everyone assumes Franklin's a problem. He gets another year regardless of the W/L record this year. His job is sanctions/injury proof, and the fan base buys it.
Besides, the fan base is rightfully concerned -- petrified is probably more accurate -- that their AD will hire their next football coach. She makes Steve Peterson look like a football hiring genius.

I don't know but if they did, our local and NY newspapers always would print anything that would be negative to Rutgers. They just printed that ex Rutgers coach, Greg Schiano, hit a kid on a bike but wasn't hurt. Big news.Rutgersdave,
Read on BWI that Rutgers Fans Shout a Chant "F@#* Penn State"! on Third Downs with a Bell is that true????
So you have not been to that games to hear the Penn State Chants? It is Ok, it is posted on BWI so why I asked?I don't know but if they did, our local and NY newspapers always would print anything that would be negative to Rutgers. I agree, but Pitt has such a History of close games lost and the way Pitt lost them after big leads, as well as, Pitt went through a number of coaches that have come and gone, Narduzzi losing the UNC lead did nothing to change that pattern.Captain. Sorry, ND was Coach Narduzzi, not Kelly. Those calling him out are insane. 2nd year and only a handful of his own recruits. Totally unfair to him.
