If we did what the average school did, Tyler sits the first series of downs.

Let's just get a grip here and play with what goes on at any ACC school. If we really want to be heavy handed, the first two series.

Our dedication to be outwardly dedicated to the purest program is misguided. This is college football and it's messy. This will not effect his draft, his grades nor performance this year.

Time to move on.

Agree. The kid was honest. Suspend him for a couple practices at camp or sit him for a quarter.

The 21 year age law is dumb. I have always thought that. At 18, you can put your life and limb on the line serving your country in a war half a world away, you are apparently deemed enough to determine the leadership of your community and nation, are adult enough to unilaterally decide to end your compulsory education, mature enough to get married, are accountable enough to purchase firearms, and have been given the ability to drive a three ton vehicle 65 miles per hour down a busy highway for three years. But for some reason, mainly the political unpalatability of advocating for a largely politically apathetic demographic at the expense of raising the ire of certain advocacy groups, that same18 to 20 year-old individual isn't responsible enough to walk into a bar and order a Yeungling. That is the epitome of a hypocrisy in my opinion.

I have always thought that if you don't want to repeal the 21 year old drinking age, than tie drinking age to military service (can get served with military ID) or other civilian service or academic performance standards with/or without taking necessary alcohol education classes. If a person achieves whatever standards you might put in place, you can add a notation right on their photo ID that they are licensed to be served. But, IMHO, the double standards of responsibility afforded to 18 years olds in other, potentially much more serious arenas, is bs when they are universally deemed too irresponsible to order a beer or glass of wine at their own wedding reception or at their farewell party before they get shipped to Afghanistan. And if they want that beer, they're going to get it anyway, but in a much less controlled environment.

I have a question. Why is this a football matter? Let the Jefferson Hills police deal with it. If they charge him with a DUI, that's enough of a punishment.

Remember PSU fans saying that covering up child rape was not a football matter and thus, the football team shouldn't be punished? Well, after enough pressure, the NCAA agreed and let them off the hook. Why should Boyd driving buzzed be a football matter? Make him run some extra sprints and do some community service. Heck, make a positive out of it. Make his community service have him do a 1 day Pitt "satellite" camp in Clairton for all those prospects.

Still, it gives Pitt's perception a black eye when it is trying to inch forward. And thats the thing, every time Pitt starts gaining traction, it shoots itself in the foot.

Have Tyler sit the fourth quarter with a 28 point lead over YSU.

Sit the ysu game. I'll be pizzed if this suspension is more than one game.

No way it'll be more than a game. It'll either be a game, a half, or "internal team discipline."

If he's not charged, it'll probably just be "internal team discipline," which it should be. If the "law" doesn't charge him, why should Narduzzi?

If he's charged, it'll probably be either a game or a half.

A game suspension for this would be going overboard. Community service is the way to go - could be a real positive -- considering his stature around here -- if he talks to kids about always considering the ramifications of their decisions/actions and the importance of staying out of trouble...

Go Pitt.

Are you saying PItt is just like everyone else?

Maybe he could help "clean up" the stadium for twenty or thirty minutes?
Only the purist of diety's would hasten such harsh punishment. At a City school like ours...emptying a garbage can should be sufficient punishment.

I really don't think it hurts Pitt's perception too much. I guess that could change based on how things work out/ are handled, but I think momentum from the recent change will continue.
