If we lose the next 3?

Yeah. Bubble teams went 25-5 this weekend.

We need one of the next 3.

I understand your point, but after a huge win yesterday this is buzz kill trolling smf. If we lose both games this week, then discuss it. We have been playing better of late so I would say what happens if we win both games and finish 4th in the seeding of the acc tourney

I think we need to beat GTech to be sure. Right now, I'd say we are on the outside of the bubble with 3 straight losses. Beating VTech and losing 2 would probably put us in but not a certainty. I think beating GTech is more important. I think we win both and this discussion is moot.

I would shocked we aren't in already certainly one more win might help for seeding but twenty wins plus wins on the road at ND & Syracuse and beating Duke at home should have cemented it.

I would agree. I say 0-3 = Dayton but it would be a 50/50 kind of deal and make for a very nervy Selection Show.

Also, look at Syracuse's last two games. At UNC, At FSU. Even with a split, and barring a deep ACCT run which seems unlikely, we wouldn't drop below them. So, we'd still be the 6th team from the ACC. I know conference affiliation shouldn't matter, but the ACC won't get 5 teams, no way.

We'd have a better RPI, and we would have swept them, including a comfortable road win when they had Boeheim.

So, maybe it wouldn't even be Dayton. I'd love more wins as much as anyone, but I'd be surprised if we aren't off the bubble right now completely.

Why would beating GA Tech be more useful than beating VA Tech. VA Tech has a better ACC record than GA Tech and has a shot at finishing 10-8 if they beat us and then Miami--both are at home for them where they have played very very well including beating UVA.

Regardless, i think we need at least one win in the next 3 to be sure we get in the NCAAs.

JMO............win one of three and I think Pitt will be on the bubble and possibly be on the outside looking in. Lose all three and I think Pitt is out. To make it comfortably I think they need to win 2 of 3.

More importantly though, given the level of play in the last 2 games and the OT against Wake, I think it would be a shame for the team to backslide and not perform at a high level against VT and GT. If they are to do more than slip into the Tourney and actually make some noise (make the sweet 16), then I think they need to take out GT and VT.

Umm no. If pitt wins one they lock it up essentially probably as a ten. Even with 3 losses we still are 50/50. I don't know how you could make the jump from an 8 seed and fall below about 12 teams by going 1-2.

GTech is 72 RPI while Vtech is 115. On the flip side, losing to Vtech is worse since it would be considered a bad loss, so I don't know.

I am never bothered by a negative post.... UNTIL TODAY! Lol! Greatest Pitt basketball game in years and then you want to ask, "If we lose the next 3?"

Great win but the main objective is getting to the Tournament so as a fan, that's what I want to know. Are we a lock no matter what? Question is more than fair. Some people need to get over yourselves.

It's just a difference in how we look at things, after a game like that, I'm not thinking about "the main objective" quite yet, still enjoying a great outcome. Plus the next two games are against bad teams, so I figure we won't lose both, I have at least that much confidence.

Just consider the source.

I think 1 out of 3 will get it done. Pitt's RPI is too good and they are too ahead of way too many teams to miss out. Palm has them nowhere close to the bubble right now.

Pitt79 complaining about negativity. What's next? The end of the world.;)
There are days, where there's nothing to be negative about. Yesterday was one of them. They are rare, unless you're the UConn woman's team.
