If you aren't banned over there, let the State Penn fans have it!

I've been around long enough to realize that the chaos theory always comes back to Pitt, and it's always negative. For example, some of the complaints they're lodging involve their receiver and linebackers. Well, where are Kenny Johnson and Kyle Louis (NJ, but close enough) from?

They were 13-3 with close losses to 3 top 5 teams, they were 1 game from the natty, and you're encouraging fans of a team coming off a 6 game losing streak, lost in 13 OTs to a middling MAC team in a 4th rate bowl game, and coached by a half-wit caveman that can hardly spit out a coherent sentence should go on their board and run their mouths?

Anyone who actually does that is pitiful.

Never would have predicted Penn State would be lacking linebacker talent. Strong linebacking core was their bread and butter for years.

I just saw that Penn State’s WRs had 0 catches for 0 yards last night. I know Warren is basically a WR in their offense when he is line up out wide but that is incredible.

They don't lack LB talent. At all.

Are you citing the rants of one of their message board numnuts about their LB group?

Franklin has kind of succumbed to his own success. For the record, I don't hold that against the fans either. Jamie Dixon obviously did the same thing; it's just human nature to want to continue to reach a new milestone after a while.

But he's had six double digit-win seasons in his 11 years. It took them 20 years to achieve that before he got there. They've finished in the top 12 of the CFP rankings 7 of the last 9 seasons (and it's really 7 of 8 if you toss the Covid year). For what they are, which is a Tier 2 program (I'd put them in that Florida, Tennessee, Miami, Auburn, etc. category), he's done a pretty good job. Just can't get over the hump.

But I find it remarkable to call him an awful coach (as many on here do) and then defend Narduzzi. Franklin has Penn State operating at like 90-something% of their max, which is an A. Narduzzi has us at more of a C+/B- level... and that's taking a nosedive as of late.

Going over there and gloating might be the worst idea I’ve heard this week. Yeah they probably shouldn’t have been there but again, they beat the teams they are supposed to and we don’t. Otherwise we’d too have been there a few years ago.

We'd have been in a 12 team playoff in 2021 if there had been one.

There are too many adults here with arrested development.
Totally agree with you .
I’m happy they lost
That’s enough - I don’t need them to know

Pitt has had enough bad luck.
Don’t need any more bad Karma by dissing them on their board.
Bounce back is a bitch.

I don’t read the Penn State board, but I agree with TheWerewolf that their linebacking unit is weaker than normal. King is an NFL player, no doubt. But I don’t think Deluca (slow), Rojas (can’t tackle), Elsdon (slow and can’t tackle) are up to their standard. But I know we all see things differently, so I’m interested to hear your thoughts.

At least their QB probably can't declare for the draft now so they'll at least be getting him back.

He’s beating himself up for costing his team a chance at a natty. But he should understand that they were extremely fortunate to be there and frankly didn’t show that they were anything more than a top 20ish team this year.

He probably should. At least over that interception. There wasn't any earthly reason to attempt that pass on 1st down. But honestly, it's just inexcusable to give up 24 points in the second half when you could have just run ND into the ground at five yards a clip.
Allar is the quarterback and naturally will get the blame. But there’s a ton of blame to go around.

The PSU defense owned the LOS in the first half, then gets pushed around with 2 ND backup OLs in the second half?

PSU run-offense was great in the first half. Then they give up on the run and throw against the best pass defense in the country?

ND clearly made better halftime adjustments than PSU.

I disagree. They were only a better coach and a better QB away from maybe an undefeated season and playing in the big game a week from Monday. In fact, if Franklin and his OC would have just continued mauling ND up front and hammering ND with those two backs in the run game they would have won that game last night. Instead they wanted to get cute and mix it up. And that's why Franklin is Franklin, can't win the big ones because he puckers.

Well they were top 6-7 in total defense and run defense all year. They were solid all over the field. Those LBs all made plays over the course of the season. I didn't see a ton of them this year but when I did I didn't see any significant weaknesses on their D. If anything I thought they were a little faster all over the field on D than they usually are.

Which is why they weren’t good enough to be playing in the semifinal, if not for favorable scheduling.

It was a physical mismatch up front and that was there all game long. They just didn't exploit it like a smart staff would have. And Allar is weak. If they had continued to hammer the run game, that would have opened up the deep throws, and I don't remember them even attempting one deep shot.

They've made this mistake over and over again all year long. It's just how they operate. I said it how many weeks back that the best iteration of their offense was the Wisconsin game where Pribula played because Allar was out. Allar being out forced them to run the ball more. The one PSU poster came on our board and disagreed with my criticism of Allar, but last night only reinforced what has been clear for a long time now.

If 2018 Shawn Watson was their O coordinator, they might have been able to win the national championship this year.

They are hurting, so grab the dagger and give it a twist!

I hate them as much as anybody. I also think they are generally overrated yearly. But at the same time I just can't talk shit with as bad as we have been.

I did in 2015 and then in 2016 when we beat them and then in 2020/2021. But not this year! We lost to freaking Toledo!

they were also a few plays away from being a 3 or 4 loss team...
