Pitt loses by 20. But I don't think it's time yet to fire Capel.

I believe his plan was to come in and to successfully sign kids the next level down from the Dukes of the world in the 75-125 range .
Landing X , Trey and Toney in his first class with very little time to do so emboldened him and the fans into thinking that it was easily doable . It’s proved out otherwise .
Yr two just didn’t work out missing out on all the kids he was in on early , fortunately he got lucky with Justin and hopefully Horton &AKC keep improving.
Last yrs class in time could’ve been the foundation once X and Toney were gone . Losing Hugley ( most likely ) hurts , now the success of that class is on Femi and how much Jeffress and Collier develop . Max is a long shot .
His plan just hasn’t worked out yet . I think he’s finding it much more difficult to recruit the players he feels he needs to win to Pitt . I also believe this is what also happened to KS and what was happening in the tail end of the JD era . ( let’s not forget Wilson , Houghton , Nix , Kithcart etc )
The bottom line is that , if the last 10yrs have showed us anything it is that it’s not that easy to recruit quality bb players to Pitt .
The real puzzling part is JD's travails, for some reason he seemed to know it wasn't gonna work in the ACC
Yes, it could certainly turn out to be by 20--But, the oddsmakers say Pitt only loses by 7.
I am also not ready to see Capel fired. I will withold my judgment on that at least until I see what the new roster looks like next October.
He should get a 4th year regardless of what happens from here on out.

I dont want him fired either but with a 20+ point loss I wouldnt care if they did. However i feel theyll be fine. I just wanted the 'sky is falling' spread
To be honest, I'm gonna enjoy not having X out there, nothing personal, but too many poor decisions to watch repeatedly.

Seems when he’s running the team his teammates don’t look lost out there and they move without the ball...With X running the team his teammates didn’t move without the ball they stood around and looked lost. Good job coach and players.
Congrats to the Pitt team and coaching staff! The last two games have been the most enjoyable of the season, the team played as a team with desire and intensity. Can’t wait to see what they do against Clemson.
X has tremendous talent, but his talent will never be full realized until he quits showcasing his talents for the NBA and starts managing the floor to win games, Capel tried to get him to understand that It’s about winning that makes you great not ego.
Toney has been rumored to transfer for some time, he does have a shot at the NBA, if and only if, he focuses on the work necessary to get there. Running off to another team won’t fix his problem unless he runs to a program with a coach 5 times tougher and meaner than Capel, someone like Huggy that will set him on on the right path through discipline if he responds or toss him to the wasted talent basket if he does not. End of talking about those two but I do wish them luck.
