All we know is what the Stallings camp is pushing to the media. If true, I'm glad Pitt is putting up a fight to save millions. Stallings should be glad he fleeced Pitt for over $8M for working two years. He was given a gift.

I disagree that this will impact the coaching pool for Pitt. There are a lot more factors that would impact the pool other than the buyout/negotiation. At the end of the day Pitt will have to pay to get a good coach. This situation doesn't change that. Pitt will have to offer a very competitive budget for assistants. This situation doesn't change that. Pitt plays in the ACC. This situation doesn't change that.

If you asked someone prior to the firing what Pitt will need to do to get a good coach in the door I'm sure that answer hasn't changed. IF Pitt does those things they will come out ahead with a better coach than what they had. Them trying to save millions firing Stallings does not change that.
