I'm sure TD_nitter & dion28 will be along soon to blame sanctions

The reason it was close was that hack was actually coaching the offense. If I were Franklin I offer hack my oc job when he flanks out of the NFL in a couple of years

Your genius coach called the worst fake punt I've seen in quite a while. Direct snap to the slowest player on the field and have him run wide? Lol.

His defense had to outsmart an OC that called only 3 or 4 different plays all game and got gashed for 24.

His offense could barely get a first down until Georgia went into the prevent.

Georgia didn't have a kicker which cost them six points too. And they still covered.

Franklin got exposed as the wanny-like GameDay doofus he is.

What percentage of dion28's posts are concerning Franklin and UPS? Does he ever make a post about anything not related to the Nits?

What I don't get is that the announcers kept telling us what a great QB that UPS had...what a great defense that UPS had...what great receivers that UPS had...but then we're supposed to believe that the sanctions had a huge impact on them.

Huh?

Unless you're a Top Five team, every team has weaknesses. To blame the sanctions for Nit weaknesses, is absurd - especially when their biggest weakness is their Head Coach.

I thought the 2 minute drill looked like a 2 minute drill run by a backup qb with no timeouts. He did put them in position for a Hail Mary. I doubt Hackenberg would have...just my opinion

would have been impressive if there were 30 seconds left and the nits got the ball. They got it with almost 2 minutes left. Poor clock management and to blame that solely on the QB is something only a died in the wool franklin fanatic like yourself would do. BTW, most national writers are criticizing the clock management by your god-hero

Hackenburg declared. Like, he didn't even wait an hour after the game ended. He's gone. I never seen that. It was like "SEE YA". No wonder why he had such a big smile as the game ended. It was like he was being paroled.

I am sure he is relieved and happy to be going. He has been the Nits whipping boy and has been sacked over 100 times in his career. I would have declared when the season ended

How much higher on the draft board would he have been had he decommitted from PSU during the scandal and went to a different school?

Bill Obrien showed that the kid does have some talent. James from State College probably cost this kid a round or two in the draft.

The final drive was well coached. Those screens and 2 yard passes to the middle of the field with no timeouts are textbook. When Jimmy Franks has 85 5-stars on his roster with 20 4-star walk-ons, look out! He'll win 8 games consistently then.

If Georgia had a back-up kicker (How can a team like Georgia not have a back-up kicker that can kick a 35 yard FG?) that drive wouldn't have matter at all.

If shoop leaves for Tennessee, how many of the georgia grad assistants does franklin interview for the psu job?

I think UGa got in on ground floor of recruit escort activities

Saw this tweet from a sports writer:
Multiple NFL evaluators have said to include Hackenberg in any first round mock drafts I do. One: "Can't hold James Franklin against him."

Fair prediction, but in all reality what kept Penn State in the game was Georgia's inability to kick Field Goals since the Place Kicker got hurt or they would have had another 6 to 9 Points?

PSU Defense played all game long and did not quit like in the Temple, OSU, Michigan, and MSU games?

PSU Offense came alive with a Running QB making some 3rd Downs on scrambling and Georgia still was not coached with any stability, and still beat PSU even without Head Coach and other coaches and some Players and Field Goal Kicker?

Here was Georgia's coaching staff for the game. Look at their titles and tell me how this staff could put together a game plan to beat an almost complete coaching staff.

Bryan McClendon - Interim Head Coach / Recruiting Coordinator / Passing Game Coordinator / Wide Receivers Coach
Thomas Brown - Running Backs Coach
John Lilly - Tight Ends Coach / Offensive Special Teams Coordinator
Rob Sale - Offensive Line Coach
Tracy Rocker - Associate Head Coach / Defensive Line and Will Linebacker Coach
Kevin Sherrir - Linebacker Coach

Love the Lair Posters that look up Info and Links and share such knowledge with Rivals Posters, just shows smart beats dumb, and backing up an opinion with facts, makes a better judgment!

Thanks for that Info and educating me on that aspect of Georgia's win and Franklin's loss!

I like discussing Football with any Posters including PSU, WVU, ND, Michigan, and any other Programs Fans that discuss it too, that talk Football and add insights and links and facts to make me form a better opinion, and even correct my mistakes, learning is fun, and you make it better when you add and post info that on the Lair!

Smart Fans & Smarter Posters look up things to support opinions, and anyone can take and make hate fans look silly that think through by hate like a few at Penn State!

It's football, not rocket science. Not much is going to change from what they did all year. UGA is just far superior in talent. PSU didn't embarass themselves the way most Big 10 teams do when matched against the SEC.

Keep believing that. You guys who have never coached or probably even played crack me up with your total ignorance. It's not rocket science, but it is not as easy as your ignorance leads you to believe either.

A lot changed from what they did all year. If you watched the game and compare it to other games from this season, you would have seen a world of difference in play calling. They where about as vanilla as they could have been.

Nope. It was pretty much the same as in the regular season. UGA's offense just isn't very good. They appear to be vanilla because they can't execute well enough to open it up.

And yet they still kicked the nitters azz. Doesn't say much for James.

For someone who claims football isn't rocket science, you sure don't know much about it. It was a lot different. It was almost as if the person calling the plays only called a handful of plays they used during the season in which he was comfortable calling. Hmm, maybe it was because that was exactly the case? The only coordinator they had was the special teams coordinator, the rest were position coaches who were not used to calling plays. I'm sure they have experience at lower levels, but not at D1.

I was a lot better coach when the talent I had was better than the other teams.Funny how my plays worked a lot better and my defense looked better when my talent was better than the other team. When your more talented its a lot easier to call signals and plays and the most talent was on Ga sidelines.Gee one year almost every play I called worked,I was a genius! The next year I called the same plays and I was a dumb sob and they wanted to run me out of town!I got stupid in one year, nothing to do with talent.Believe me everything revolves around the ol and PSU had the worst in p5,so they lost!

Yeah --- it may not have been the "best" 2-minute drill, but I've also seen much much worse. PSU at least had a chance at the end.

McSorley converted TWO 4th downs in that drive. One of them by running for it on a 4th-and-5. Would Hackenberg have been able to do that? Like you, I have my doubts.

Yeah, you had a shot against a team with no coaches or a field goal kicker.

Isn't this thread (see the title) about PSU's game-ending 2-minute-drill?

What does Georgia's field-goal kicker have to do with that?

Anyway, to the point: a 2-minute drill is honestly more about a QB and HIS decision-making processes vs. the coaches. And I don't think McSorley was terrible on the 2-minute drill. Hack would likely not have been smart enough to run for it on that 4th-and-5: McSorley recognized it and did. Good for him.

I didnt watch the game and only caught the very end, but I have to say that was about the worst 2 minute drill Ive seen in a while. It was a trainwreck.

I do think we will have problems with them next year though, PSU is very big east like in playing, kinda like the UConn teams. And we always had problems with them. I would think its a low scoring tight game.

Uhh they went for it on 4th down because their FG kicker was hurt. You would have been behind by 2 scores at that point.
