No we aren’t. ND clearly has more talent across the board. Our OL got abused on a lot of pass plays and sometimes in the run game. Our defense played very well.
This horrible year is result of not cutting losses with the Watson hire.
Scoreboard says otherwise. Our defense played well today, but so did Notre Dame's and their offense made the big play when it counted.
That was a brilliant call by ND on 4th and 1 at their 36 with the game on the line.

We ran all over a very good Syracuse d-line. Notre Dame’s d-line ate us alive. ND clearly has better players, but I think this game continues to show we have enough talent to compete. Shawn Watson is just a complete imbusult, I mean you can blame kessman for missing two kicks but we should expect two TDs there. We didn’t because a) bookser had an awful penalty (and an awful game really) and b) watson’s Play calling is horrendous on top of being hysterically predictable.
Wasn’t great, but it sure was better than the 3rd and 3 swing pass behind the line of scrimmage, and imthe idiotic fake punt.
Oh, why don’t we rollout Pickett again instead of going back to Matthews over the middle that kept working?
We didn’t call the swing pass, Pickett threw it. Mathews was open on the slant, just threw the wrong pattern
I am willing to give Kelly the benefit of the doubt there. A healthy Yoon can’t kick it that far and it seems stupid to punt from that close. Play call was bad though.
I do give him the blame for his team coming out as flat as a pancake. He should’ve known that was possible after back to back huge games and had his team more ready to play.
Agree. Should have thrown it to Mathews over the middle every play. We would have won 60-19.

That really is a good way to put it. If we didn’t know anything about these 2 teams and their standing in the CFB world, our defense looked every bit as good and talented as ND’s today.
And yes our offense can certainly use more/better WR threats. I just wish our play-calling at critical times gave them more opportunities to prove how lacking they are. I’d just like to see them once and a while act like they’re trying to convert a 3rd down with their play-calling instead of looking like they’re more so trying to avoid a turnover or other negative play.

Kessman hits those kicks and we aren’t having this conversation. Yes Watson is a terrible OC with his horizontal offensive game plan, but his options are limited with average at best WRs, no TEs, a not that great QB, and a horrendous pass protect oline. Talent just isn’t there.
If you think Narduzzi is a better coach than Kelly I don’t know what to tell you, the records speak for themselves. Just because he’s an ahole doesn’t mean he’s a bad coach.
Narduzzi has done absolutely nothing to show he’s anywhere close to that level.
Moral victories I hate, but in this case, I agree. We clearly out coached and out played the number 5 team in the country at their building. We played harder, out schemed them on defense, and basically played without an offense. I was f'n proud of this team
I’d agree if I actually thought Kelly personally paid off the refs. But I suspect it was a booster

I agree, the main job of a head coach at this level is to have his team ready to play right out of the gate.
Kelly didn’t do that today.
It’s as stupid as thinking Kelly out coached a guy who was 21 point underdogs on the road

Narduzzi would be fortunate to accomplish anything close to what Kelly has over his career.
