In but. Really a chance?

I'm fine with Pitt putting their hat into the ring, but I don't believe Pitt will land the top-top transfers. It sucks, but it's the reality of Pitt basketball. Capel has a good amount to sell, and he needs to convince some players to transfer here. ACC, playing time, etc.
Milan Brown did coach him. Can't hurt, you'd think???

I am predicting we are going to be continuously disappointed with these players. I just don’t see how any decent transfer is going to want to come to pitt

Pitt will lose out on the good transfers to SEC programs providing the extra benefits. No way will Capel get guys over Pearl, Musselman, etc. Build, build, build with four-year players is the best way for success at Pitt IMO. The big fish just aren’t coming.

Seems like the $EC gets a ton of transfers. Louisville typically gets a good one or two each season. Pitt won't get the cream-of-the-crop, but we need team-oriented guys who want a shot at the bigger level. Capel and company have a TOUGH sell job with transfers and any recruits.

Guard depth doesn't concern me.
We'll get someone suitable.
We don't need much there.
It's almost barely an issue.
It's not going to push the envelope of this team much.

Sounds promising?

As someone who hasn’t followed the transfer portal as intently as others, would any of these guards (Jasper, Daye, etc) be good enough start ahead of Odukale and Sibande next year? I guess if we do land them, it’d be under the assumption of assured playing time.

Made a little more sense when it appeared Horton was leaving.

Three guards can all play a good bit, particularly if none is a superstar.

Makes sense. Unless it’s a “can’t-miss” transfer, I’d be more interested in landing some front court transfers, though another guard probably wouldn’t hurt. A small forward would also be intriguing, though I want to give the ones we have right now every chance at contributing on an ACC team.

I agree the bigger need is capable front court players but another PG is still a need. If Femi gets hurt are you comfortable with Nike or Ithiel running point for big minutes? I wouldn’t think so.

Yep. Jasper to Auburn. Like I always say, Pitt isnt beating SEC schools for players. The $EC is taking it seriously now.

Pitt's woke egg heads will make sure we never take it $eriou$ly, Winning at sports is embarrassing and shouldn't be a priority. Just put EQUALITY on the back of the jerseys and call it a day

Ideally you hire people on the way “up”.

Our “entire“ coaching staff failed at their first big opportunity. They are down, on their way to out.

They now have in front of them a glorious and unexpected opportunity: This wild, open transfer season.

I would hope they work their asses off in an attempt to save their careers. They need this.
