Sorry for the BB talk & not posting about why others shouldn’t be in the tournament. Anyways yes we know Pitt is better than Duquesne, so now that we have that out of the way does Duq have any chance & what would you do vs Illinois who has a huge size advantage?

Yes they need to continue to play high level D & slow the game down. Their coach hates zone but he may have to mix in some. Illinois starting backcourt is both 6’ 6” then they bring in Dainja off the bench who is a 275 pound tank. Tre Williams for Duq is 250 and would defend him but he’s out. Dixon & Drame can really play D but are light in the pants. Zone?

We saw how Zone helped last night vs TCU, as it really threw them off their game

I don’t know why I half my post was cut off. But wanted to say give them some different looks, mix in a press to throw Illinois off the rhythm. Earlier this year Illinois had trouble when they were pressed.

Don’t think Duq has much of a chance, but if they can keep it close on the glass and get hot from 3 you never know.

Duquesne is well coached and tough. They need to shoot really well. They can’t go into a long drought like they did against VCU because Illinois is too good.

Yes a drought vs Illinois won’t end well for them. Duquesne needs their guards to get hot. They play hard but give up height and a ton of strength. Shannon the PG for Illinois is the same height as Drame who starts at the 4 but about 20 pounds heavier.

Yes, if they keep the game in the 60’s or 70’s.

Illinois is tough though. They are big, athletic, and push the ball. They have 2 stars and go too guys. Going to be a very hard game to keep at their tempo.

Agree. Shannon is an NBA player. Domask is really underrated and Hawkins can pretty much defend the 1-5.

No.

Boy duquesne is a farce

How so? No one (with any credibility) thought they were some kind some legit contender. Figured they’d get waxed there.

But they deserved to be there based on the rules in place, and settled it on the floor. Then won a game. Give them credit.
