"For the fourth time in his tenure as Rhode Island men's basketball coach, Hurly has signed a contract extension. His deal runs through the 2023 - 24 season."

"Hurley's base salary of $300,000 remains intact, and his annual compensation by the end of the deal will be nearly $1.1 million. The state is responsible for a small portion of his salary thanks to it's 9 - percent contribution to URI's general operating budget. The school is responsible for the remainder."
"In addition to his base salary, Hurley will receive:
- $640,000 in gate receipts from 2017 - 18, with any shortfall offset by a five - year, $1 million pledge from the URI Foundation. (Hurley received $590,000 in gate receipts in 2016 - 17.
- $10,000 for appearances at athletic department functions through 2017
- $60,000 for appearances at athletic department functions through 2018
- $110,000 for appearances at athletic department functions from 2019-24
- $25,000 for his radio show
- $65,000 for an away game guarantee (buy games)"

"URI benefits in the form of increased buyout amounts through the life of the deal. the school would be entitled to a maximum payment of $1.5 million after the 2017 - 18 or 2018 - 19 seasons, $1.2 million through the following three seasons and $500,000 through the final two if paid in equal monthly installments. Give him 1.5-2mill a year base salary and see what he says. He's turned around 2 programs already and he's a relatively big name.

Pitt is probably going to have to offer him 2 million a year with incentives. Hopefully, Pitt gives him a offer he can’t refuse

I'm pretty sure Stallings gets paid around $2m, and Jamie was getting well beyond $2m, it's the going rate for a good coach in a power league so Pitt should be able to handle it.

I remember as a student going to a game against Seton Hall at the Field House where Danny fell to the floor and didn’t get up right away. Let’s just say the fanatics didn’t have the nicest things to say while he was being attended to. Let’s just hope he doesn’t remember that day as well as I do lol!

I think we may be fighting UCONN for Hurley. Kevin Ollie is getting paid 3 million a year right now. Is Hurley worth that much to Pitt now when we most likely could have had Enfield for that much two years ago but wouldn't pay him that much. I am not sure we can afford Hurley.

And supposedly Narduzzi is just getting around 2 million as well. I can't see going a million higher for a basketball coach right now.

Why not mark Schmidt from st. Bona? Somehow gets some pretty good hoops players to go to Olean ny. Worth a look. He just beat Hurley’s team btw.

URI will go as higb as $2.5 I'd imagine. Pitt will have to offer $3 million as will UConn. Hurley would have to decide between Pitt, UConn, or staying at URI for a little less money until a really big job opens.

We did it before with Dixon. If we want a coach who can turn this thing around, we may have to pay close to $3mil. You get what you pay for. If you want to go the cheap route again, then you'll get a Stallings again.

URI cant buy this guy a practice gym, they aren't paying him 2.5 million a year.

For what he has done, they will find $2.5 million somewhere. Friggin Duquesne found $1 million for Dambrot.
