Interesting Paul Zeise interview

There is clearly left leaning bias in the individuals (and thus the content spin) writing, producing, presenting the content in the national news industry. On the surface the only real curiosity would be why that's excused, because the executives and ownership of the entities themselves, not to mention the sponsors, almost surely would be conservative.

But then I remember the ultimate conservative principle is profit, and no doubt the studies and research must prove that consumers of national news media must be dominated by the major metropolitan areas, which skew liberal. Fox is there for 'the flyover zone' ... voluminous but not desirable demographics!

So as ticked off as a CBS or NBC (Comcast?) Exec might possibly be to see and hear figures and policies he advocates get eviscerated, he remembers who he is producing them for.

Likewise the individuals writing and producing and presenting on Fox News generally are gonna skew liberal ... that is simply how those who go into that industry are likely to skew, whether due to how they were indoctrinated in journalism school (dominated by liberal profs), or influenced by peers in the biz (which of course often is overlapped by the entertainment industry...many QVC hosts were former "news" anchors for example).

So those who seethe at Fox existence should at least take heart that it's likely even more painful for the individuals delivering the content than it is for you knowing that it is there.

But it's a precious job in the industry and they are paid handsomely to put on that facade (not to mention the makeup, tight blouses and short skirts!).

As a result It's totally necessary to obtain news from wide variety of resources and attempt to filter the reality. But, that's at least an improvement on state- dictated news, ie China, N Korea etc.
