Iowa State sure seems confident…

I'm trying to remember the last time I thought of Iowa State as a power in any popular sport....just can't seem to come up with any period in my lifetime...maybe my memory is fading?
Late 90s/early 00s basketball with Marcus Fizer and Jamal Tinsley was solid, but far from a power.

We owe them one. Their fans were jerks at the 2000 Insight.com bowl in Phoenix. Very arrogant for no reason. Sage Rosenfels killed us that day. Walt should have ran Barlow and Goings at least 30 more times. So pissed.
Still bitter about the 2000 Insight Bowl?

ESPN Analytics has them by 4 points and also has Pitt with only a 33% chance of pulling an upset.

Sagarin's computer only has them favored by a maximum of 3 points (2-points by "recent rating").

Don't know how much the Fede situation plays into either prediction, if it does at all.

My experience with them is that they’re friendly but typically have an unintentional arrogance because of how high of an opinion they have of themselves.
Maybe they think they can have their wrestling team play against us so they can get take downs on defense and pins on offense. Otherwise, no reason for such arrogance from their hoop team.

Let's get real here. MSU wasn't that good and we were playing with our one hand tied behind our backs. We toughed it out and won. ISU isn't much better if at all, having only won 19 games all year and being only 0.500 in their conference. We have a great chance to beat them no matter what Vegas says.

ignore those 2 wins over one current 3 seed and another win over another 3 seed along with a win over a number 1 seed behind the curtain....sure Pitt can beat them but they have their share of big wins..

When Oklahoma and Texas announced they were leaving for the SEC, my ISU coworkers would tell us that an invite to the Big Ten or Pac-12 was coming at any day and that the rest of the country would be fortunate to have them in their conference.

I mean no disrespect to them because the ones I know are great people and they’re a very passionate fan base, but their opinion of Iowa State is much higher than the general public’s opinion of Iowa State. At least we more-or-less know our place in the world of college sports.

Most of America has little clue what an Iowa even is. I could do street interviews to prove it

I unfortunately spent way too many days and nights out in Iowa during my working days for an employer. I'm happily done with that now. But I have to say at least the Iowans I knew and spent time with were very good people. Most didn't know anything about Iowa State or their sports teams, so that probably added to their good nature.

Lots of corn-fed women out there, I have to say.

A 19-13 team with a 0.500 conference record should not be a favorite over Pitt. I don't give a s$%t about what conference they're in. That's all hype from uninformed people and the media. And I don't use that NET and computer garbage that others swear by. I use my own eyes and see what their record is, which is the ultimate determining factor. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and, if we don't have Fede, they might be a 1 point favorite. It will be a similar game as the Pitt-MSU game...back and forth, lead changes, staying within 5 points for most of the game. If we are to win, we'll have to rebound better, play better defense as we did later in the MSU game, and make out FT's at a 77% clip like we did all season.
That's a bingo.

I was there for that one. Agreed with your assessment, though I think the slick field was part of the issue. Not sure if they had the proper cleats for it.
