The best venue and a great road trip for Iowa fans, I'm sure they;re ecstatic. Stanford plays a very similar brand of football to Iowa and Iowa has a good chance to finish 13-1, whereas if they played Bama, they would undoubtedly get rolled (as I think MSU--or anyone else--will). Grandaddy is the best. Nothing better than that field and back drop in the second half as sunset ensues.
Some fantastic games played there as well.

Yeah but according to most on this board so is the B10, and every other conference that Pitt doesn't play in.

As for MSU beating Bama, I'd love to see it, but I really don't think it's gonna happen. Bama by double digits. Ha e you ever watched that defense of theirs? 11 future NFL starters. Makes Iowa look like a HS defense

Even in its down years, like this one, the SEC is the best league top to bottom and it isn't even close. That isn't just hype and conjecture. National championship results since the BCS began don't lie.

Yep-NIT matchup that will make more momey for the schools involved, draw more attendance, and most likely have more TV viewers than the national championship game. Not to mention the best road trip and pregame/Gameday atmosphere of any bowl game by far.

Winning the national championship means a conference has the best team. It doesn't necessarily mean the conference is the best from top to bottom..

As for the Rose Bowl, while I think there are too many bowls, that game is a perfect example of why the bowl system is a great idea. One of those teams is going to get to end their season with a win and a Rose Bowl Championship.

I don't get why people think that's such a horrible concept. It's better than 1 national champion and 120+ losers.

LOL. Maybe a slight exaggeration on the TV ratings and total $$$. I think the NC game is like 5 times the ratings of the next highest rated bowl.

Total consolation prize for the top 2 non-playoff teams, but the best consolation prize. Still the best bowl game, atmosphere and experience though, and the biggest crowd. 25 years since Iowa has been there, their fans are ecstatic.
