Our lovely friend Vuk has predicted a 6-0 start for the Panthers. At first I was appalled by his foolishness but the more I think about it, it might be possible. Obviously the big one is PSU. But I think Pitt is getting them at the right time. They will be a very talented but inexperienced team in week 2 in a hostile environment on national tv. Penn state will be a good team but those young guys will make mistakes and I think those mistakes will be more plentiful at the beginning of the year.
Other than psu, there’s Albany GT UNC UCF and Syracuse. I could see Pitt beating all of those teams. I don’t respect UCF this year. They lost their entire coaching staff and all of their leaders. Pitt has far superior talent if you trust recruiting rankings and should be able to win that game. GT is really the only one that scares me because I have yet to see Narduzzi stop that offense. I’m not saying this is my prediction. I just don’t think it’s out of the possibilities. And good lord that would be a fun ride if it happened
