teams like unc, duke, Miami and uva? I'm literally hoping they lose. I loved big east, rooted passionately for any and all BE team come conference time. Not only do I not care if fellow conference teams win, I'm rooting against them. Anyone else?

I only rooted against Grayson Allen. I just can not stand watching that punk on TV.

Nope.

I'm rooting for the ACC.

We're in the ACC, not the Big East.

When a guy gets a divorce and remarries, he should be loyal to his new wife...not his ex.

Seriously ?

Always root for the ACC, the last I heard PITT is in the ACC...

If you said nitwitville conference now your talking.

It is March Madness. I always root for the great stories. I could care less about conference allegiance. Who cares. For example, FGCU upsetting Carolina would be historic, epic. We would be witnesses. That is much bigger than rooting for a conference "brethren".

Well... the league shares from the tournament come from the number of NCAA tournament games that each league plays.

So financially, it is much better for Pitt if ACC teams win as many games as possible.

But I too would be rooting for FGCU.... that's a special case.

But in general, I want ACC teams to win.

Agree on all points. Also in the case of Carolina/FGCU though, would we not obviously want the #1 team in our region to lose? If Pitt goes on a run, I for sure don't wanna see Carolina again.

I root for all ACC teams now except Duke, I hope they always lose.

Rooting against the ACC is kind of like hoping your nice, normal, sometimes annoying but perfectly fine next door neighbors who maintain their property nicely sell their house to meth cooker who park junk cars on your property line, stop cutting their grass, and hang old blankets for curtains.

If you don't understand what I'm saying then I can't help you.

Lol, I get it. I want to root for acc, trust me I get it. Just having hard time doing so. Think it's cause I hated acc for so long. I do love canes uniforms.

In general. Key phrase, I mean today's big upsets were a bit more delicious because it happened to the Big 10 and Big 12. But again, it is the tourney. I can enjoy games without always looking through the prism of "helping Pitt". Because at the end of the day, the ACC having 5 out of the Sweet 16 or 1 out of the Sweet 16 doesn't help or affect Pitt moving forward, unless we are ONE or THE ONE of those teams.

That isn't entirely true. In a bubble, every team needs to perform at a high level to make money, win fans, fill stands, etc. I get that. But in this world of conference contracts and conference networks (or not) the conference brand is incredibly important. Pitt fans should root for Pitt to win every single game they play in, and for the ACC team in every single game that a conference mate plays out of conference. It's that simple.

Maybe in 20 years when all this bullshat calms down, we can go back to finding our WVU and hating someone in our conference so much we pray their entire campus falls in to a fault line and the earth simply closes back up over it.

I think over time it matters if ACC elevates to the hands down, no question best conference. That should draw betters players, draw more TV money, drive better time slots for regular season games (not a Tues or Thu 9pm game),...etc. Things that do matter to Pitt and Pitt fans

I root for all ACC teams including Duke. Hated Duke before we were in ACC but they are our brothers now and I was rooting hard for them to beat UNCW.

I openly root against the Big East though I wished I could still like our old league but I see them as competition and I am jealous of all those players SHU and Providence have. We leave the league for 2 seconds and all of a sudden, every kid in the NE wants to play for Prov, SHU, and Nova.

I'll root for ACC teams, but if an underdog is pushing them, I'll root for the underdog & say screw my brackets. This week is the best time if you love basketball, the little guy will challenge & win a few games. In football this really doesn't happen unless it is Boise State against Oklahoma & these games don't happen that often.
