Not that it matters, but I won’t watch another game until he is not. A serious program would can him this week and give underwood or someone else a chance to develop a scheme with 2 weeks to prepare. If Pitt is still serious in football, they’ll do this. If not, why would we take their football program seriously?

Is FCJ the entire problem? Of course not. Is it a little bad to wish someone fired, especially mid season? Sure. But it at least shows you’re doing SOMETHING to try and correct mistakes and makes no doubt you will not go into season 3 with him. And who knows, maybe Underwood is a good play caller. They aren’t gonna bench Phil until bowl eligibility is out of the picture. So this would be a step in the right direction.

Yeah there is nothing quick about this offense. Tempo. Slants. Outs. Pitches. Playcalling from the booth. Nothing.

He has no chance of being fired for at least 3 seasons unless Bickel or someone else eats his contract or for some reason MSU takes him

I'd definitely remove the buyout, or lower it significantly, if Michigan State did want him. This thing is going to take multiple years to fix one way or the other at this point, so we might as well bring in an offensive mind, which simply matters more these days. Coordinators will come and go, so an offensive coach is just better to have. And the initial "selling hope" recruiting bump could offset whatever turnover we have if we do change coaches.

That said, MSU isn't going to bring a 2-10 coach in, so it'd just a pipe dream. We're stuck with Narduzzi for at least three more years.

This team has given up because their coach won’t give up on a clearly incompetent qb. Oh, the irony.

It would be great if he left during the bye. Not only do you remove the buyout, you cover his moving costs

Look on the bright side, this Heather gal's doing a bang up job with soccer and volleyball. Very exciting.

I never understood why she gets so much credit for football when she didn’t hire Duzz or really do much of anything to contribute to an ACC title.

I think her tenure has been completely overblown. She whiffed on the bball hire and the women’s bball hire. Do most ppl care about any other sports?

Enjoy the time off because his fate won't be determined till the season ends. And FWIW a change in OC midstream won't add another win this year. This team, in all facets, is pedestrian or worse. A second-string QB and someone else calling the plays isn't nearly enough.

I understand it won’t happen til the offseason, which proves my point Pitt is not serious about football.

It doesn’t matter if it changes anything. It ensures this experiment won’t go on, it gives the team a new voice, and it shows you’re willing to do whatever to win. Serious programs do this all the time

Sure, it wont add wins but there is 0 reason to wait until the end of the season. He has proven his incompetence and has to go now. Why wait for the sake of waiting?

Yep. And she didnt even hire Fisher or Vidovich. She made 1 good hire. The WSOC coach.

I’m just glad he spent time reminiscing pre game for the brawl… wandering the field with phone in hand … remembering his family and friends and WV heritages… he got to have that special tearful moment

Because developing a game plan for the brawl against that exact opponent your Dad coached isn’t really a thing…

My god this guy is like some type of Trojan horse or something…Terrible

How can that be fact?

Could they be any worse than cignetti ?

At least firing cignetti sends a message that poor performance won’t we tolerated. Same for sitting rhe jerk. Total dumpster fire

The season is a failure. Jurk is awful and he won’t suddenly stop being awful. We need to know if there is another QB on the roster who is good enough for next year. We need to know if we need to bring in a portal QB. These things are obvious and a failure to act accordingly means that Narduzzi is beyond redemption.

I don’t know, as I don’t follow such things that closely. But I suspect firing a coordinator mid season is very rare. I don’t really think that’s any indication of how seriously football is taken.

So what??

Maybe we should do something RARE?

It’s been 18 games and Cignetti is terrible the offense is going nowhere.

Send him to WV … he can reminisce some more

It’s unacceptable entirely to watch this guy destroying OUR program

That’s how people should view this right now.

Handle this just a southern school would… hell a southern HIGH school would… run Cignetti out…

Fire the OC …he’s destroying OUR program… he’s had 18 games and the offense is useless…

Raise money from donors … ship him off to WV or somewhere…

Do the RARE thing for a change and look like you care.

Cool. My only point is that I don’t think it’s any indication of how serious football is taken.

I'm guessing Salem would call the plays, but yeah - this team has basically given up right now. You better do something to revive them from the dead.

Cignetti has sucked everywhere he's been. He's Exhibit A of cronyism allowing someone to keep finding jobs.
We’ve got better people in those positions now. I will guar-an-damn-tee yinz that.

I can call a better offense and throw a tighter spiral and not throw at a players feet from 5 yds away…

Guaranteed

To be fair, the college football world had been done with him since 2011.

It’s only a couple of defensive oriented coaches that want a dinosaur offense, that resurrected him from the coaching grave.

But this isn’t a guy that you wonder, “how does he keep getting employed?” He hadn’t been until Hafley and Narduzzi came along.

I would have Salem calling plays for the rest of the year. Can’t be any worse.

More times it is just the coordinator being stripped of play calling duties. But head coaches are being fired mid season a lot more often, so why not a coordinator. Of course, none will occur. Ergo, Pitt not serious about being big time college football

We can put him , Canada , and Jason a Capel on a junket

But but cal was good 20 years ago - just ignore their offense was better before and after him
