Sean Miller?

Burrows won a title in college. Did Marino? That was my point. I’d take college Burrows and his results over Marino and his 0 NCAA titles 100 times out of 100.
Only a desperate, erratic thinker would justify their position that QB A is better than QB B because A won a national title. Doesn’t mean a thing…as I said earlier, there are plenty of of QBs who won national titles who never made in the pros and were never heard of again. Once again you can’t even meet your own standards of substantiation. You continue to talk out of your hind end in this comparison…you never even saw Marino play…your opinion is based on some goofy folklore and your just trying to be a contrarian. Let’s see if Burrows gets into the HOF, hotshot.

The assistants are the key. If we had a really good coaching staff of assistants, well-paid and knowledgeable, like we had under Howland, Capel could just do his schmoozing and back slapping and let his assistants run the show. But we have neither at Pitt right now, neither a good head coach nor great assistants. We're stuck with Capel for a while. Revamp the entire staff, top to bottom, and get some competent assistants in here. Maybe they'd actually coach and prepare the team to play competitively.
I doubt Greene has the guts to stand up to Capel and ask him to change his assistants.

4 Elite Eights & 3 other trips to a Sweet 16. I'd sign up for that kind of mediocrity.
How’s he done since he can’t cheat his way to a talent advantage?

I don’t give a hoot if Burrows makes the HOF. That’s completely irrelevant to my discussion of who was a better college QB.

more rantings of a hater…no proof for anything you assert.

Burrows had one good year in college …played 5 years in college to Marino’s 4. Can’t imagine what Marino could have accomplished in a 5th college year( 3 at OSU and 2 at LSU) since in his 5th year out of HS he was torching the nfl while Burrows( what a twit) was playing against powerhouses like Vandy, Mississippi St. and Eastern Louisiana.

What’s your visionary up to these days?

As always, context matters. I'd like to think that people could understand that expectations are higher at a program like Arizona, which was probably no worse than the second best program in the western half of the country when Miller got there, than they are at Pitt. You can't seriously believe that what he did at Arizona would directly translate to Pitt, can you?

Of course not. Yet people continually do that to Pitt football coaches.

BTW, One Elite 8 & two Sweet 16s were at Xavier.

You have no facts to support your assertion…that’s just your opinion as a biased hater.

There’s absolutely no doubt that Pitt supporters( I’m guessing that most are non alums) have vociferously bad mouthed Sean because of his old man’s bad behavior( not Sean’s fault or responsibility) and because he left a sinking Pitt hoops program as an asst. to do what was in the best interests of his career and what any rational person would have done under the circumstances.

It is as if you don't know what started the "feud" between Pitt and the Millers. It had absolutely nothing to do with the old man. The old man didn't get involved until after it started. He didn't start it. He just refused to ever let it go.

And as for facts, it is a fact that the Millers (once again, plural) have bad mouthed Pitt over the decades (and once again, plural). If you don't know that, you are simply speaking from ignorance.

How and when did Sean Miller ever badmouth Pitt? His father badmouthed Pitt in the sense that he once implied that Sean and Archie were too good to consider coaching at Pitt after Pitt started to decline during last few years of Jamie’s tenure at Pitt, culminating in the embarrassing loss to a mid-major team in the CBI.
