Seems like networks have given up. We had an unbelievable run from about 1995-2015 but it seems to be over. We got banger after banger.

Seinfeld
Friends
My Name is Earl
The Office
Parks & Rec
Entourage
Eastbound & Down
How I Met Your Mother

Now, its crickets....well, and Ted Lasso

that's an "unbelievable" bangers list? Listen Sonny, All in the Family, MASH, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and the Bob Newhart Show was the 8-10pm slot just on SATURDAYS on CBS in the early 70's.

Funny you say this. Was thinking the same the other day when I watched a Netflix comedy series "Nobody Wants This" starring Kristen Bell, which was very funny and well acted and written (produced and directed by Greg Mottola who was involved with a lot of comedies like "Superbad").

There hasn't been any good sitcoms in years by the networks, and those audience / laugh tracks have gone by the way of the Dodo.

Other than maybe some old school TGIF shows when I was really young, Seinfeld was the only show I ever watched new episodes (like, as they were airing for the first time) of. I've watched a pretty good amount of The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men via the syndications, but I don't know that I've seen more than ten episodes of any other sitcom.

Most feel like too much work to keep up with or just look awful to me. I keep seeing commercials for that new Tim Allen sitcom, and I wonder who in their right mind would actually find that funny or make a point to watch it.

The broadcast networks have, just look at the commercials during football the past few weeks, sadly we have a few more weeks of Going Dutch promos during the FOX games.

Hate Tim Allen, eh? His last show with the daughters was pretty good I thought.

I watched a Tim Allen standup comedy special.
He is a very funny man.
But I understand that humor is specific to the person watching.
Many comedians out there , that I just don’t get.

Is Eastbound and Down considered a sitcom??? Also the golden era for the sitcoms were the 80’s thru 2000’s ……its been downhill ever since with a few good ones here and there

I enjoyed watching Young Sheldon with my youngest son and then we moved onto Big Bang Theory which was good as well.

The Wonder Years is a great show to rehash if you have a child in the 12-14 age range.

I was young kid when The Wonder Years and Cheers were on and remembered my parents really liking those shows. I decided to watch them on both on Netflix or Hulu a few years ago and they were fantastic. Two of the best shows I've watched. Nowadays I love Abbot Elementary.

WPGH started its afternoon lineup with That Girl. That was followed by the Dick Van Dyke Show, the Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle USMC and Beverly Hillbillies.

Can we define a sitcom please?? I’m seeing shows that I wouldn’t classify has sitcom’s even though they are funny like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Eastbound and Down and others but don’t sitcoms have to be family friendly somewhat??

Really loved king of queens. I HATE Abbott elementary. I like Tim Allen alot, looks like his new show could be GOOD!!

30ish minute comedy series. We went from having 3-4 all-time greats all running concurrently to not having one of those in maybe 10 years or so.

I always thought sitcoms were 30 minute shows with laugh tracks and studio audiences.

Happy Days….Mork and Mindy…..All in the Family.
Tuesday night line up ruled
Tuesday night, ABC…

Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Threes Company and then Soap?

NBC Thursday nights …

Cosby, Family Ties, Cheers, and Night Court?

The young ones here grew up on ABC Fridays Nights with erkell, the Olson Twins, etc? I stopped watching network tv circa 1992 so I never watched those shows…and don’t know the lineup.

Btw, the Olsen twins other sister who plays Wanda in the MCU Universe? She is smoking’.

And Erkell is now a Star Wars character playing a space pirate? Cringe.
