That said, I think Narduzzi could have built a really good d-line out of Okunlola, Brewu, Edwards, James, etc. If guys who flash anything are just going to keep leaving like this, I honestly don't see much of a point in following.

We definitely need to recruit some midgets. Only way to remain relevant.

Agreed. The bigger programs finally got what they wanted. If we do something right and find/develop a good player, they just swoon and and say, "We'll take that." Like, isn't this supposed to be a competition? It feels like when the Nazis killed members of the Ukranian soccer team for beating Germany. The programs that really get under my skin are the ones that would otherwise be on par or below us but lucked out into joining the right conferences multiple decades ago. I wish absolutely nothing but the worst for Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Mississippi State, etc. May 5-7 forever be your fate until you're finally left out on the curb one day like ladies of the night. Hopefully these conferences go all in on chasing the almighty dollar and stop giving these low-end hussies free rides in the pimp mobile. They have no business being among the relevant. If we have to live in the kind of town with a Dollar General, a pawn shop, a place where you can cash your paycheck early for a 30% fee, two vape shacks, and a Vietnamese grocery store with illegally-trafficked associates and not a single window, then by God so too should you.

I gotta be honest with you, that's a bit over the top. It's hardly any of their faults that they were geographically in the right place at the right time 100 years ago. That said, they are no more relevant than Pitt or WVU in the big picture. They are just getting a lot more money for their meager efforts.

The thing that set us down the road to irrelevance was joining the Big East conference, just for basketball. The relatively short existence of the Big East set a lot of dominoes eventually into motion. Once PSU joined the Big Ten, the rest of the northeast was pretty much doomed.

you know you've just described oakland perfectly. there is one of these within a 1/4 mile of the cathedral.

There is a dollar general in north oakland, there are about 6 vape shacks littering forbes avenue, about 20 vietmanese and other asian grocery stores and take out places all over centre avenue and ACE Cash express all over eastern part of the city including bloomfield..
