It’s the fans fault

Should have showed up more when Dixon was the coach.

This program had plenty of support and was one of the best home courts in the country.

Maybe we made it a little harder with post season expectations....but when you are a top 10 program over a decade stretch, that is expected.

Dixon’s fingerprints are all over this mess too. No contribution from Sr, Jr or Soph class.
Maybe so. But the consensus seems to be something along the lines of “oh the rich donors ran him out of town, they should know they couldn’t do any better”, right?

It was the execution of securing a quality replacement that is truly haunting us. I hoped Dixon would have stayed, but he resigned.

They priced them out. Fans will pay premium prices for National Champion caliber teams but as Pitt got worse in Dixon II, prices continued to rise and Pitt kept telling people not to bother to come because games were sold out, even though they werent close to

Regarding JD leaving, it seems that depends on who your sources are. Lots of different thoughts that cut both ways.

I liked when Barnes referred to the fans as "Noise"
The first 45 seconds of the Stallings introductory press conference, when Barnes spoke of “noise” was the worst thing that happened for Stallings. Most of the fanbase was outraged at the hiring. Not worried, or disappointed, but outraged. Barnes threw gas on the fire by referring to noise in a Steve Pederson I know more than all of you type of way. Then he’s gone months later and doesn’t have to face the music.

At this point Stallings probably can’t wait to leave. Stallings hasn’t done himself any favors since he’s been here but he also walked into a brutal situation, replacing the best coach in school history, the guy who hired him left, and while many fans have never given him a chance, lots have but he’s never connected with them.
