Pens and Steelers win Championships and James Conner with a Heisman ( because we aren't winning it all ). That would be one of the All-Time covers if you are a fan of Pittsburgh sports.

I would love to throw McCutchen in there but the Cubs sure look great this year.

Let's go Pens tonight to get it started.

The Pirates have a better chance to win the WS than a Pitt player winning a Heisman.

I saw Ben and Palko at a bar in station square one time.. Forget the name, it's no longer there. The western club bar that was next to the hooters.. Palko was still at Pitt.. Im like, "Yo Palko, what's up man?" and he was like, "What's up?".. True story..

You dont get it? Pittsburgh hasnt won a Championship at home since 1960.
Have won 11 since. 12 in my eyes. Pitt 1976 .

Lived there for 20+ years. I just don't see the appeal of watching a game outside.
Well there's 15 of us (and counting) on our deck watching on the Pitt-girl big screen, pretty much getting hammered. Perfect night here. Come join us.

I suppose I should have clarified. Sitting on your deck doesn't count!

Some people find a reason to be miserable and find misery in anyone's happiness. I have learned to remove those types with all the doom and gloom that follow..

I could maybe enjoy it depending on the weather and if I get a comfortable spot, but only if I lived WALKING DISTANCE from there. But I hate DRIVING and PARKING in big crowd situations like that! Even when I go to a Steelers or Pitt game, I am NOT DRIVING and LOOKING FOR PARKING and then fighting bumper to bumper traffic. No thanks, Looking at the pictures in the Trib, NO WAY IN HELL would I go anywhere near there! I'll sit in my basement with a beer and my 52" TV instead.

It's how I feel when I see 100k people in time square on new years eve.. There isn't anything less appealing to me than that. It actually looks like punishment..

That's going overboard, over-analysis. To each his own. I hate being in a crowd, unable to move, especially in a car, being monitored be security etc. It's not "happiness" to me, it's "when can I GTF out of this suffocating space."

If the steelers win it all they are on the SI cover

If the pens win the cup they get a regional cover only

And Connor is not winning the heisman and I doubt he even gets to new york.

As for the bucs....... Your scenario could turn into a feature story in a later issue....promoting the success of this town and all the teams

But you are dreaming if you think you are going to get your wish

ABSOLUTELY :) I feel suffocated and you can't move and if you get tired of it, leaving and getting somewhere comfortable takes a LONG, LONG time! Once your in, they gotcha! It's like being in the mob, hard to get out. I go to a few sporting events per year, I do enjoy it, just the getting in and out is what I detest, that's why I'm not a season ticket kind of guy, I LOVE going every once in awhile, but EVERY TIME it's not special anymore, it becomes a chore. :)

Thank you Mr. Wet Blanket.

slow news week in sports. NBA finals not done....US Open just starting....baseball in June? who cares

Thats the only true explanation. Certainly not that the national sports audience is interested in hockey........

Wouldn't that have been true when you made the original post though?

You were wrong. Don't backpeddle and make excuses.

as much as I enjoy hockey, I have to agree with his premise.

If the Cavs went quietly....Steph Curry gets a national cover. That said.....the tone suggests he wants nothing more than to irritate the hockey fans here. I would even bet he watched the finals and wore a penguins sweater......

Depends on your age. Right now it would be punishment. But if I were 20 something. It would be lots of fun.

Too much standing, not enough debauchery. If you are talking Woodstock or some sort of music festival surrounded by 100k partaking in drugs and booze, clothing optional, then count me in. Standing in fenced off areas in ny city, surrounded by cops, too watch a mechanical ball descend?? I'll take any tailgating at an sec game in deliverance land over New Year's Eve in nyc
