It's an absolute given that we wear retro unis this weekend correct?

Well if this is any indication...

I’m feeling the all navy for a night game. Plus the Panther Pit will all be in navy, the band, so it’ll all look uniform..no pun intended.

It still doesn't necessarily preclude the white pants!

But I'm kind of screwed, I realize despite a ton of navy, gold, yellow and even gray Pitt shirts, I'm actually lacking a royal blue shirt ... mostly because I don't like it...

Like it or not , it still looks 10 time better as a uniform . I know what your saying in clothes but I have seen shirts that are gray, blue, and black with just the royal pitt emblem and they are really nice looking.

This will be pretty cool if our fans can pull it off. I assume the students will get some new royal t-shirts out of it. The retro colors just look much better in the stands.

They’re wasting a lot of time and money with that pathetic gold.

Make the full time switch to bright yellow and royal blue. Those colors pop in person and on tv plus the players love them.

Really, a different university should conduct a study of Pitt's constant mangling of this issue ... for 21 years straight now (or possibly back 40 years or more, if you count the idiocy of tossing out the classic 1976 look).

Pitt needs to do a study on colors. Royal blue is royal blue. This blue in their press release, I don’t know what the hell thsts cold but it’s nowhere close to being royal blue.

Google image “royal blue” then compare it to the pitt press release telling us to wear royal blue.

If Pitt changes colors, they need to pick a color and stay with it and that even means creating their own color like Tennessee's "collegiate orange," Texas's "burnt orange," or the Cavs' "wine and gold."

Two years ago, they released exact details on the blue and gold, down to Pantone numbers (whoever the hell knew that even existed), made it so official only to have a uniform unveiling a week later with the colors being completely different.

I did Google royal blue, you're right, much different than the clown color above. Actually a nice rich blue, I could get into wearing more of that. Not this color. I was at Dicks the other day, they had #24 Conner Pitt jerseys there, kind of groovy...but were more of this neon color above (and ugly yellow lettering) rather than royal and gold. I was thinking of it for the game, but just couldn't bring myself to get it.

FWIW: This is NOT an official press release from Pitt. They did not create the graphic nor use the colors in that image. It was created by a Pitt student, who’s part of the Panther Pitt, trying to get a promotion trending that he created, not the school.

Y’all are making this issue waaay too complicated than it needs to be. Just buy a lighter blue Pitt shirt that’s licensed by the university. It’s not about what you want; it’s what the university is selling. The athletic department needs the money anyway.

You’re welcome.

There’s also some traction on Twitter that the team busses will be arriving at Heinz at 5:45 and want a lot of people there to welcome them. “Make a big deal out of it.” Seems like there’s a bunch of grassroot ideas going on at once.

I love the retro’s we have now.......... I say keep those colors full time and stick with it. No longer will we be confused with ND, Navy, and other programs.

When u turn on the TV. You know it’s Pitt playing ball. Plus, under the lights. Those uni’s sparkle

The guy that sells all the gear at at the intersection in parking lot as well as on the corner on campus by the Student Union told me the University was completely changing to the “retro” colors at the end of next season. He said they will tranition over for this year and next and then the current retro colors will be official Pitt colors. Not sure if he knows anything for sure, but he has been working those corners for over 25 years and his business depends on what Pitt colors are in demand from the fans.

How about Carolina Blue or UCLA True Blue....those should focus group well w today’s crowd.....

From some of the posts here , it appears all the suits have done to placate all the whining is copy WVU....

that probably only took 5 committee meetings, a retreat and a couple mixers.

At this point i don't know how anyone could have much confidence that Pitt puts a whole lot of advance planning or integrated strategy in colors, or in signage, branding, gear, logos etc. In pics Pitt and others post, they are always so different, so non-standard, so poorly integrated, many times looking like the efforts of well meaning but taste- challenged individuals within each little entity, done with a copy of Gimp on their laptop at Crazy Mocha.

As far as team gear, Nike (sorry, had to mention) is involved in that and maybe ultimately drives the bus, but Pitt gotta have some input and final say (or do we, even?). I certainly realize Pitt is low on Nike's totem pole so imagine we likely draw its ... perhaps lesser talented designers, likely their summer interns, to slap together our look, most likely in Ho Chi Minh City version of Crazy Mocha.

They should have gotten word out Monday as to whatever the hell they're wearing and what the fans should wear. Additionally, hand out t-shirts like they do in hoops in that color. A Pitt sponsor would pay for just about all of the free shirts. This annoys me. At the very least, get the word out of what color fans should wear in support.

If I had to pick, I'd like the all blue look or the retro look. Either is fine. Given they're honoring the inaugural Pitt FB HOF class, likely retro look.

Hope not PITT beat State College U in the all Navy w gold trim , Its real colors...... lost big in periwinkle and banana, some other school’s colors.
HOPE YES! I laugh at superstitious people.

I love colors like that, I like wearing super bright colors, I hate drab colors, I own a nice ELECTRIC BLUE and BRIGHT BANANA Script Pitt HOODIE, that I wear with my CARGO SWEATPANTS.

We did last year and got rolled.

We didn’t the year before that and won

Ok, let's go with the current unis. That way when Pitt wins, their most recent 4 victories against Penn State will be in 4 completely different uniforms.

Who cares about the color

Where in the hell is the new Panther logo???

That’s what I want to see

I nominate a three-school panel of Oregon, Alabama and Tulane.

I still want to see the Pitt onyx all black uniform that someone made a pic of.
