Izzo sounding like SMF on transfer portal

You know that the NCAA is just the schools, right? And that there are no NCAA rules that aren't approved by the schools, right?

The current transfer rules aren't in place because the NCAA wanted them, they are in place because the schools wanted them.
Obviously but I wouldn't say the schools wanted them. I think they felt pressure to be more athletes friendly but didn't expect 30% of all basketball players to transfer in a given year and as many as 75% to transfer at least once in their career. I think they have to realize it was a mistake and having everyone pick up new teams every year isnt sustainable for the sport as its customers do not like it and they pay the bills

Should the NCAA have no rules then? Should players be able to change teams on a weekly basis without sitting out? Are you for complete college basketball anarchy? I think I already know that answer.
There it is....lose the moderate discussion by claiming you know my beliefs. Nice try, Mr. StubHub.

Ok, then what are your beliefs? The NCAA shouldn't have transfer rules? There should be no NCAA? All schools playing under no orgainzing umbrella?

What if a kid wants to transfer 3 times in a semester? Why should he have to sit out?

Don't pretend that those are my beliefs. The NCAA gets funding from the schools, right? So the schools drive the bus. The NCAA has no direct contact with the fans. That is the schools place.
If the schools want to have at least some type of control over transfers, they should agree on it and implement it to restore some balance. They put up $$$ to run a business and a kid leaving is a waste of money. Perhaps the receiving school should reimburse the sending school's investment.
And if a kid wants to transfer 3 times in a semester, only stupid schools would want them. There are time limits on registrations. The one year wait is fair, and the grad transfer is too.

Schools themselves put those limits on when kids can register but what if they'd change it so transfers can register mid semester. Would you be against this example?

Hot shot QB at Georgia loses first 2 games, transfers to Alabama where they lose in SECCG and don't make CFP so he transfers to Clemson to play in CFP. Should there be a rule against or not?

Yes.

So, you are against mid-semester transfer eligibility but for transfers being eligible in the next season? Why?

Why not?

Seriously, what does one have to do with the other? If you start a season playing at one school you can't jump somewhere else in the middle of the season and play for a second school. But you can go to a different school and play there in a different season. It's two different circumstances. Why wouldn't, or at least couldn't, there be different rules for different situations?

Is that really that hard for you to understand?

He's a sophistry graduate. And he's been wrong on the claim of the NCAA having an obligation to the fans, so he strings more nonsense. Nothing's sadder than a person who can't admit his mistakes.
The NCAA had different rules for non-grad transfers and grad transfers. They screwed around with it because of the pandemic. It's nuts that the schools formed the NCAA and joined it, but now bow to them. Time to break that monopoly.
