Jalen Bridges offered for '20

Definitely not a "text book" shot release but it looks to be very effective.

It's certainly odd, but it's not all that quick considering how low his release point is. Without some adjustments, he looks like he'd struggle to get his shot off consistently in the ACC. Looks a bit stiff as an athlete too.

That was my first thought--low release. Maybe a little low arc as a result, too.

I don't think his release point is as low as it appears. He looks like he is shooting from his chin but his release is actually above his head. His shot is more of a set shot rather than a jumper. That is the problem. That can be worked on. His offers tell me coaches don't think it is as big a problem as some of us do.

There's plenty to work with there. That said, I would rather have Donovan Johnson if it was one or the other. Preferably in the 2019 class.

At this point take whoever you can get this isn’t the time to be that picky !

Well this is the exact time to be picky. Schollies and roster spots are for 4 years with these kinds of recruits. That's why there have been a lot of delays in offering kids (delays only in the minds of fans). Neither of these 6'7"-ish recruits are reclassifying based on interviews.

I’m referring to guys who can play and you want ...not just anyone !

They were both offered so wanting one over the other isn't being picky. Just a preference.

His shot is low, might be easy to block for some forwards or quicker guards

I watched Jalen Bridges play in his high school state championship game and he was solid.
However, I came away far more impressed with a very athletic 6'9" kid named Obinna Anochil-Killen. Obinna is starting to pick up some solid offers and I am surprised that PITT hasn't even approached him, considering he is in PITT's backyard.
When I saw Obinna in this game, he played both inside and out, could jump, handle the ball, and shoot the 3. IMO, he has a very high ceiling.

Yeah his offer sheet isn't great. But he looks good, I'd imagine it will pick up.

Looks like he’s going to Scotland Prep next year. Not a bad spot for him considering the staff’s relationship there with Coulibaly. Wonder where Donovan Johnson will end up if his PIAA eligibility issue forces him to prep.

I have always wondered who pays for these kids to go to these ball factories.

Not sure if Pitt's chances were better, if at all, for 2019 or 2020, but definitely good for the relationship between Pitt, Scotland's coach, Coulibaly, etc. Obviously can't hurt.
