Jalen Hurd also considering Pitt

I don't know I'd grad transfers are always a great thing for a program (look at Oregon) but they could sure help bridge a gap at some of these positions next year. These are guys are salivating at our offense, hopefully recruits are doing the same.

Hurd will have to sit out a year. Then he will have one year remaining.

Is it worth tying up a scholarship for 2 years to get 1 year of play?

I am all for the grad transfers that can fill a gap as mentioned above especially since they're gone in a year. But this is less appealing.

Regardless it's great that Pitt is being noticed by these kids and they want to come.

I wont even pretend to know who good he is... I dont. Just know he is highly regarded, and the last Tennessee transfers worked out well

Well some random guy on twitter doesn't mean Hurd has interest here or if it's a two way street.

He's good, but I don't think he's worth a scholly for 2 years.

Yeah, pretty sure zachattack isn't in the know on any subject other than trolling.

It depends on Hurd. Catching the ball out of the backfield wasn't exactly his strong suit, and now he says he wants to play WR or TE. The whole thing at Tennessee seems bizarre. However, its always good to have a talent like that in the program.

Hurd is a stud and would be a great add. Hes a big back like Conner and he is underutilized in UT's read-option spread offense. That's why he's leaving UT. He's actually an excellent receiver out of the backfield. When Mike Bajakian was the UT OC, Hurd was a lot more productive, in fact he was the SEC's fourth leading rusher last year as a sophomore. In Mike DeBord's O, his production has fallen way off.

He could be a real weapon at Pitt in Matt Canada's scheme along with the guys we already have and would be well worth a schollie. It's not like we have a lot of 5 star skill players lining up to get into the program.

AJ Davis is strongly considering Pitt from Lakeland Florida. Hes another high school all american with offers from tons of schools.

He didn't look great doing it this year. I don't know what to make of Hurd this season. At times, he looked checked out long before he bailed. Even when the Vols were winning.

Oh, my goodness! He would be an excellent weapon in Canada's offense!

Imagine putting him in that spot occupied by George Aston. I imagine him taking those shovel passes down by the goal line. Imagine him slipping out of the backfield down the seam. Imagine him on jet sweeps. You can put him at receiver and still use him like a running back an awful lot.

I think Hurd would be terrific in our offense.

-Much rather have Davis then Hurd. Big time athlete and can cut like Dion Lewis and has some McCoy in his game. Maybe take both, but we need help on defense , a wr, and another o lineman. The 4 star wr that verbaled to Illinois looks like he is backing out and may flip to Pitt.

Not that I am complaining, but what is it with these Tennessee transfers to Pitt? Is there a hidden connection?

Peterman was because of Chaney. No idea on Hendrix. I'm sure every transfer on the offensive side is at least now giving Pitt a long hard look given what we did this year.

So no one else is reporting this except for ZachAttack? We're gonna run with what he says?

Sure. Why not? He'd sit out a year and could be another RB in the stable or a converted TE/WR.

He wants to play WR/TE. No thanks.
I'll take Zaire and the rest of the transfers can go some where else.

I mean, what's wrong with him as a hybrid WR/TE? I think he'd suit this offense well to be honest.

Nate Peterman graduated from Tennessee in 3 years. Who is to say Hurd can't take 18-21 credits each in the spring and summer and graduate....if he even needs that many.

AJ Davis, arguably the 2nd biggest target on our entire target board. Explosive

I don't know much about Davis, but if he has that burst and can really cut, I'd love to land him. Most of our RB's (with the possible exception of Moss), are straight ahead guys with some speed. We need someone like Dion Lewis or Shady who can make people miss.

Cruzer

Perfect assessment and fit for Hurd. And I don't think it is 100% he can't be a graduate transfer. Hopefully he is working to achieve that.

He's not played either position at the college level and really hasn't shown the best hands out of the backfield. I'd take my chances with Reeves and Clark over him. If he doesn't want to come and play RB, he is a complete project for 1 year. We don't have time for projects who don't offer a lot of upside.

I have no idea why he would pick Illinois over PITT. Illinois is terrible

First of all he was banged up all year. Second he went from 2 years under a good OC in Bajakian to a marginal OC in DeBord.

He's a player. Wed be lucky to have him.

Bird in the hand Steell. Pitt's track record of landing top talent is not greatand we are in no position to turn down a top player for a more desirable top player. we should take the first one of any of these guys we're lucky enough to get to commit and go from there.

Narduzzi recruited Hendrix really hard at MSU. He's a Midwest kid and I think he soured on UT and the coaches and went to his runner up.

Where did you see that? ALl I've read is that he wants to play in an offense that suits him better, including one that lets him catch the ball out of the backfield like he did his freshman year at UT.

Canada has shown that if you give him a weapon he will use it.

I know I saw somewhere that Hurd had discussed a move to WR, but that may have been if he chose to stay at UT.

Messages from Jalen's uncle about wanting to have a long pro career and understanding that he doesn't have the body to make it as an NFL RB.

Remaining ships are going to go fast.

Mathis is getting cb'd to Pitt, Twyman is also a heavy Pitt lean as far as I know.

-We are going after Davis hard, Mathis teammate, and the 3rd player we might pull out of Lakeland FL where Camp was from last year.

-Wade, Becton, Zaire, Munford, Proctor, Carmoni Green, Garbutt, Hand, Zayas, Kenny Bennett, Heyward.

-Most of these players are 4 star we are all close with in the final lists. We are also in the Final 5 but outside for Drew Singleton and Ambry Thomas.

2 DB
1 or 2 Olineman
1 WR
1 LB
1 or 2 DE / DT
1 QB or RB or both

Unfortunately, i think we miss out on Wade. Shocking that it's about 2 weeks till decision date and there's no Pitt coaches all over him like they were all over Hamlin. Something tells me he told Pitt he's going to PSU. I sure hope my gut is wrong though.

I do think we get Mathis and it sounds like they can flip Bennett who will now visit Pitt next week.

I think OSU toying with Munford is growing old with him. They lost an OT a few weeks ago and still haven't offered him. Pitt needs to close the deal.

Garbutt, Singleton, Proctor, Thomas are a pipe dream, don't waste your time.

Zaire imo will be a Panther.

There appears to be a late florida connection that could ve Panthers by the end of December. Next 4- 6 weeks will be fun.

-OSU has another Olineman they are trying to get from Tennessee before Munford. Per their board they offered him, but on hold for the other guy as Tennessee is about to lose him.

-Proctor is visiting Pitt first week of January. Garbutt is also visiting. Singleton may visit. Thomas probably is done

Ph, I know someone who has been saying for awhile now that we miss out on Wade.
