For the people who dislike James as a player and say they can't wait until he is gone .. I think you got a glimpse last night of what this team will look like next year without him running this team .. And it was pretty ugly .. Unless Kitchcart comes in and is a 10 point 5 assist and low turnover guy as a freshman next year .. I think you guys will be regretting the comments about how you want James gone .. Or that he is not a good point guard or as somebody very stupidly said "not an ACC level player" .. Be careful what you wish for is all I'm saying

so tru. Many want a multi-faceted point guard but there is something to be said for a steady leader who does his best to keep our offense semi-fluid!

At least I won't fall asleep watching someone dribble while the shot clock expired.
Let's face it; Robinson's leaning curve over the past four years has been as flat as a pancake. Minimal improvement, at best. So yes, I do look forward to watching the next Pitt point guard.
Watching James over the past 4 years reminds me of the MASH episode where they ate fish and liver day after day until the troops protested with the slogan:
WE WANT SOMETHING ELSE !!!!!
PITT FANS WANT SOMETHING ELSE !!!!!!!

I'll take my chances. Not a coincidence that the last 4 years have been a big drop off for the Pitt basketball program with James Robinson running the show. Again, big important game and our SENIOR point guard goes 2 for 9, airballs a 3 and so forth. Yes he had foul trouble but no excuse for that kind of game by him against a mediocre team(yes and I know there were other bad players as well). Time for him to go.

Did James recruit the SG's and Centers he has had to play with? What players at these 2 positions would u consider good the last 2 years? There have been bigger issues than JR. He has won a lot more games than he has lost.

First of all Michael Young and Jamel Artis ARE good players. My belief(and again it is just my belief) is that Jamie is not getting anywhere close to their potential out there on the court. That's where I have a big problem, the coaching has not been good. Secondly, James has never gotten any better in the 4 years. Yes he didn't have Blair and Sam Young with him but he is not an ACC caliber point guard in my opinion. We can agree to disagree on that.

It is crazy how many people have it in for James! You guys better be nice to Kithcart next year, he will only be a freshman. Can you at least wait until his sophomore year to start blasting him if he doesn't come in and make us a top twenty team right away?

No, they can't.

Well it is a dumb belief, but carry on

I may be making a big leap here, but I'm thinking most if not all the JRob detractors on here, even PittPoker, would freely admit that Pitt would have been worse off any of the last 4 years with anyone else available on the roster playing PG. I'm thinking most would also agree that, until we actually see some demonstrated proof on the court from Kithcart, Milligan or whomever, we'll likely experience a setback with the PG play next year as well.

I get the impression most JRob detractors don't consider him completely devoid of talent, they are just looking for or ready to move on to a PG with a different/wider skill set and mental make-up (more of an emotional on-the-floor leader) than JRob.

So the constant harping about JRbob may be a broken record, but I can understand the viewpoints of the detractors. I definitely appreciate what JRob has brought to the table the last few years but I am also anxious for a new look at our PG position as well. And I freely admit that the new look, whomever it might be, may very likely not be better in the short term.

And if they expressed their opinion as eloquently as you did and didn't take every opportunity to bash a kid who has generally played his heart out for the team, we wouldn't have a problem with them. But if we lose and Robinson doesn't score 10+ points with a good shooting percentage it's almost a guarantee there's an all-caps thread blasting him.

Look, I hope Kithcart comes in and makes us forget about Robinson too, but we could very well be throwing a current player under the bus while at the same time setting too-high expectations for a future player who we will then throw under the bus if he doesn't meet those expectations.

I'd like to issue a challenge to all the anti-Robinson morons here. Please go through all the starting PGs in the ACC and post a stat-by-stat comparison here. If you can show, using actual facts, that James isn't "an ACC point guard" I'll be absolutely shocked. Methinks you'll be surprised at how well he compares.

Careful what you wish for.

This can apply to about 90% of what people post here.
